330ml bottle. Pours jet black with a small head. Aroma is oily roast, tar and liquorice. Tart touches. Taste has chocolate cake to start, with a heavy roast finish and a tart raspberry aftertaste.

Five guys on a mission, Shrewsbury Beer Share in Chez Sophie: 9th Aug 2021. Cheers Simon for the 330ml bottle of this brew. Misty golden body, light rosy hue maybe, wispy white head. Raspberry front, Strawberry back! Seemed a bit of a mess to be honest, couldn't work it out.

Bottle from Hoptimism, Off black colour with a thick tan head. Aroma and taste are rich caramel and toffee, moderately sweet, smooth full body.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Aug 21. Thanks Simon for bringing this one. Misty pinkish gold, small white head. Raspberry and marshmallow coming through prominently on the aroma, continuing to taste with some additional white chocolate and creamy sweet notes, though not fully harmonious and certainly doesn't come across as a tripel. Ok.

1/8/2021. Bottle from The Town Mouse, Newcastle. Pours murky pale brown with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of is peppery, spice, toffee, ripe fruits, citrus, dried fruits, yeast. Medium sweetness, develops increasing black pepper spice. Medium to full body, smooth oily texture, average carbonation. Really rather good.
