Tradiční pivovar v Rakovníku
-one of the few independent traditional breweries in the Czech republic
-brews all its beers according to the traditional double-mashed technology which means that the beer is fermented in open vats and lagered in horizontal lagering tanks for 40-60 days
-only uses the highest quality raw materials of Czech origin, namely Czech malts, Saaz hops and water from its own deep wells, to make the beer
-has the right to mark its products with the protected geographical indication Czech beer

Small coarseish brown head. Clear deep dark red body. Earthy dried fruit aroma with roasty syrupy notes. Dry-sweet roasty cocos taste with earthy spicy notes. Mid-to-light body. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel Dryish roasty earthy aftertaste with spicy sandalwood notes. Very nice and highly drinkable. (0.5l bottle, from Fish & Beer, Copenhagen.)

Flaske kjøpt i Gdansk og delt med Ovesen på hytta: en pen og forsiktig start før vi rusler bort til DØE ølfestivalen i Tap1. God smak og munnfylde.

can from Billa Praha hlavni nadrazi. Clear golden yellow, fluffy white head. Light-bodied, cardboardy malt flavours with some dusty hops - no delight. Made by Pivovar Rakovnik, as the can says.

Tap at Starosloviensky pivovar, Bratislava. Dark golden color with huge white head. Malty aroma together with honey, toasted bread. Taste, sweet malt, caramel, honey, bitter hops. Bittersweet finish.

Dieses Bier, das dem Namen nach kaltgehopft ist, trinke ich sei ein paar Jahren wieder einmal. Es ist ein recht angenehm süffiges Bier, das aber einige herbe Spitzen hat. Bezgl. Balanciertheit gefällt mir das normale Helle der Brauerei besser; dieses ist eher was für Freunde von etwas herberen Bieren, die aber dennoch Wert auf eine recht hohe Süffigkeit legen.

Flaske fra Høkeren, rett fra kjøleskapet etter en sykkeltur til Ikea en formiddag på hytta: mmmm, slik skal en pils smake! Godt balansert og med en ettersmak som faktisk varer. Skjønner godt at de har mottatt gullmedaljer for denne både i 2008, 2009 og 2010 (iflg.etiketten).

Ein weiteres Verifikationsbier. Gekauft bei Billa am Prager Hauptbahnhof Ein durchaus durchdachtes Bier, das aber etwas schwer zu trinken ist. Es hat doch einige honigsüße Noten (die auch dem Malz zuzuschreiben sind), doch ist es dazu recht bitter. Wenn man sich nach dem ersten Schluck/Schock daran gewöhnt hat, dann entwickelt es eine durchaus brauchbare Süffigkeit. Honigbiere mag es vollere geben, aber es ist durchaus drinkable.

Tap at Klub malých pivovaru. Medium white full duration head. Colour clear golden. Aroma yeasty, grassy, earthy, Taste a bit watery, yet quite drinkable. Light hoppy bitterness, very light malty. Uninteresting. OVERALL acceptable session beer, yet not very good. Watery.

Bottle 330ml.Clear medium orange yellow colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, light hoppy. Flavour is moderate sweet with a average duration, green hops, malty, grassy. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20120817]

Near black with ruby highlights. Lasting tan head. Aroma of black bread, with caramel and brown sugar, and a touch of dried fruit. Sweetish caramel and molasses flavour with an ashy touch of hard roasted malt
