Tradiční pivovar v Rakovníku
-one of the few independent traditional breweries in the Czech republic
-brews all its beers according to the traditional double-mashed technology which means that the beer is fermented in open vats and lagered in horizontal lagering tanks for 40-60 days
-only uses the highest quality raw materials of Czech origin, namely Czech malts, Saaz hops and water from its own deep wells, to make the beer
-has the right to mark its products with the protected geographical indication Czech beer

Pour is more of a bronze with a large white head. Aroma is a wee bit of doughy malt. Flavor is more of a toasted malt but this is really watery. Kind of a czech lite beer.

Can 50 cl. Dark golden, clear, lush foam. Aroma: malt biscuits, spicy Czech hops, a little flowers and herbs. Taste with a good malt body, biscuits, bitter finish, not bad.

Bakalář Dark Lager. Pours a clear deep brown colour and a firm, desne light beige head with long retention. Aroma's: licorice, red fruit, rye bread. Retronasal also licorice, light roast, a bit red fruit. Flavour is light bitter with light roast and a touch of sweetness. Light bodied but not too thin. Finish is a little bit dry and roasty, hardly bitter. Pleasant.

Bottle. Very dark brown with medium beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel and bread. Flavour is roasted malt, caramel, bread, little liquorice, medium sweet and a little bitter.

500 ml bottle. Pours clear amber golden with a fluffy head. Caramel, metal, malt, straw, some diacetyl, banana. Metallic bitterness, malty sweetness. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, metallic malty bittersweet finish. A full bodied and bold Czech Pilsner.

Can 50cl. @home poured into a footed pilsner glass. Clear deep golden colour, good frothy white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma pilsner malt, grain, light caramel, grassy hops. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, grain, metallic notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, mild sweetbitter aftertaste, malty notes, some cardboard, decent.
