Thx! to Man-ki for this one. 500 ml. can sampled, BBF 05/2014. A macro pale lager courtesy of SABMiller from Hungary (a country tick for me), lovely. Pours a clear med. pale golden, head disappears quickly. Nose is med. sweetish with potato starch, touch sweet grains, white sugar & strangely some med. to light funk. Taste is similar, sweet potato, white sugar, sweet grains, touch malt, touch spices & honey. Med body. Not bad for a macro actually & more enjoyable than the other Hungarian macro we tried afterwards.

0.5l can. Dark orange body, off-white head. Both the aroma and the flavor are a bit too sweet but still pleasant with notes of gingerbread cookie, cinnamon and honey. The finish has a slight floral hoppyness. Thin bodied. OK one.

13-14/08 A 0.5 l can from a CBA in Budapest. This pale lager poured a golden body with bigger frothy head. Weaker lemon hops aroma. Flavor was lightly acidic, from mentioned hops, somewhat flowery and honey malty with an off note of cooked vegetables. Thin bodied, watery with shorter somewhat sour finish. Possible corn felt. Not ultimately bad as some of the Drehers tasted in this row, but far from good either.

13-14/08 A 0.5 l can from a CBA in Budapest. This pale lager also totally surprised me with its shiny golden body that foamed a big head. Lemony, metallic and urine aroma. Flavor was weak and watery with some vague herbal notes and touch of honey malt which actually worked to be okay. Acidic in the finish more than in flavor, somewhat grainy as well. Although very light, even for 4%, it actually turned out to be quite drinkable. If you ignore the nose.

13-14/08 A 0.5 l can from some CBA in Budapest, another one in a long row of Hungarian pale lager tasting. What a surprise, this one poured yellow body with medium sized head. White as my ass, wow. Presented some lemony aroma, touch of dust. Very lightly bitter, but now very dusty, crappy grainy flavor. Med bodied with shorter grainy and lightly acidic finish that might emerge from corn used. Well, nothing more could be expected from a 3% macro.

13-14/08 A 0.5 l can from some CBA in Budapest. Glass was filled with a golden brew with smaller head. Aroma of some grainy (or bread) and honey malt, rather decent with touch of lemony hops. Flavor was slightly acidic, soapy, flowery malty, a bit herbal bitter later on. Medium bodied with shorter finish. Started fine, but ended as a boring and one dimensional pale lager.

10/08 A 0.5 l can from a CBA in Budapest. It poured pale yellow body with a quite big head atop. True Hungarian hop aroma, somewhat salty, dusty and grainy. Flavor was much better though, showed fine bitterness, herbal and cardboardy dry hops that get enriched with citrus notes towards the finish. Generally thin and watery, even for 4%, but dryness saves it a bit. Finish was long and correct although weak. Not bad.

Light body, watery texture and lively carbonation in palate. 3 sips and down the sink, that’s all what I can say...

Canned, 0.50l. Pours clear pale golden color with medium creamy white head and average visible carbonation. Aroma is light bready and grainy, moderate grassy, citric and vegetably. Taste starts with light sweet adjunct malt, following is papery, grainy and citric, while finish is unpleasantly bitter. Light body, dry watery texture and average carbonation in palate. Incredible gem :)
