Bottled. Golden colour, big white head. Aroma is fruity, some mild alcohol, a bit yeasty notes as well as some herbal and mild grassy notes. Still quite much on the sweet side of things. Flavour is fruity, some mild alcohol, a bit spicy and yeasty notes. Slightly grassy notes in the finish. Wellbalanced and quite refreshing.

As Blond Muurken, which I assume is the same beer. Medium thick and nicely lacing, moussy, creamy, off-white head over a warm, pure golden blonde beer with slightly greenish hue and decent fizz, almost clear but with a very thin haze of yeast throughout, turning fully hazy with deposit. Aroma of lemon zest, dried banana, coriander seed, unripe gooseberry, green apple, dry cake, freshly cut sorrel, breakfast cereals, white pepper, orange peel, dried hay and, alas, a whiff of cooked Brussels sprouts (in other words: the old DMS). Crisp, fruity onset, green apple, gooseberry, some banana and peach, sweetish and sourish but both restrained, spritzy carbo without becoming overcarbonated, light and supple malt body, a bit grainy with a vaguely sweet edge and some spicy yeastiness on top, leading to a juicy malt finish adorned with herbal, grassy and spicy hop bitterness lasting moderately long, bittering as well as yielding floral aromas retronasally; a thin ’film’ of soapy coriander bittersweetness lingers, but fortunately not too obnoxiously so. Floral, light, moderately spicy variation on the ubiquitous Belgian blonde theme, quaffable and pleasant enough, but otherwise not very remarkable.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden colour with a medium-sized blond foamy head. Yeasty, fruity and mildly sugary malty aroma with notes of apricots, peaches, citrus and a tinge of herbal hops. Mildly sweet and bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a slightly spritzy carbonation. Malty, delicately wheaty taste with mildly fruity and present spicy notes of herbal hops and a whiff of coriander; dry-ish bitter-sweet and spicy finish. 02.I.16

Bottle 330ml. @ [ PBF X ] Petalax Beer Festival 2015 by oh6gdx, Petalax, Finland. [ As Giesbaargs Muurken Geraardsbergs Bruin ].Clear medium to dark brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, dark malt, light roasted, moderate yeasty, dark fruit, raisin. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dark malt, yeasty, dark berries - fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150725]

Bottled@PBF X. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is floral, caramelly, resiny, raisiny and mildly earthy notes as well. Flavour is ripe fruits, wood, sweet malts and some toffee. A bit metallic towards the finish.

33cl bottle @PBF X. Pours amber with a thick white head. Sweet bready aroma, almondy. Flavor has sweetness, caramel, almonds and mild spicy notes. Sweet finish.

Bottle at PBFX. Chestnut brown color, good beige head. Plum, candy sugar in the nose. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. Candy sugar, plum and date in the flavor. Very typical dubbel but nicely brewed.

Bottled at Petalax Beer Festival. Hazy mahogany colour, small head. Fruity and caramelly with notes of cherries. Mid dry with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Toast and candi sugar, some dusty wood. Mid bitter finish
