473mL can, pours an opaque, milky yellow with a small white head. Aroma is extremely dank and weedy in the hop department, medium chalk, and juicy stone fruits. Flavour is juicy and dank, with lots of pulpy stone fruits, dank weedy hops, low-medium chalk, and a touch of bitterness. Very juicy, moderately dank. A little messy, but this is very tasty.

(On tap @ the brewery, Aug 6/21 & in 473ml can) Pours near opaque orange-gold with a decent white head and some lace. Aroma is intense dried yellow mangoes, sweet orange pulp, papaya, citrus peels, soft dank edges, really juicy fruity Citra explosion, subtle brioche-type malt backbone, bare twinge of alcohol with the juice. Flavour is again dominated by intense dried yellow mangoes up front, almost like taking a bite of one more than a sip; backing notes here are creamy papaya and overripe peach, orange pulp and peel, perfumed tropical flowers just avoiding soapiness, sweet brioche malts, again just a hint of alcohol. Sweet through into the finish which is only slightly drying and intensely fruity/floral, some slight citrus bitters and a little dankness, bit of a powder candy vibe too, very low bitterness. Medium-full oily body, average carbonation, slight aclohol warmth. Beautiful Citra DIPA, perhaps rounder and sweeter than Double Triple Citra with less of a green edge (due to process differences it seems). Only the slight alcohol edge to hold against it.

(Tap sample @ the brewpub, Aug 6/21) Backlogging, limited impressions. Fairly sweet, mango, citrus, pretty ample Idaho dankness, semi-dry finish, grassy/dank, some citrus peel, limited hop burn. Medium-full body, creamy. Nice stuff.

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 9

(On tap @ the brewpub, Aug 6/21) Backlogging so limited impressions. Fairly sweet biscuit malt, lots of sweet orange and peach up front, orange and grapefruit peels, melon and grapefruit pulp in the middle kind so slow down the sugar rush, finish of fruit rinds and citrus peel, pine needles and resin for moderate bitterness. Funny to have a 7.8% IPA and 7.8% DIPA alongside each other in a row of beers, but hey...whatever you wanna call it! Really nice profile here even if it drinks more like a DIPA to me.

(On tap @ the brewery/fresh can from The Wheeled, Barrie ON - as Tropic Thunder) Pours opaque dull deep gold with a thick white head and heavy lace. Aroma of navel orange, candied mango, peach, light guava and lychee florals, some lime peel. Flavour of mango, peach and guava nectars, some navel orange and lime pulp acidity, balanced creamy tropical florals, catty dank undertones, smooth somewhat sweet bready malt, more citrus tones into the finish but effectively zero bitterness and just a hint of hop bite even if it’s a very fresh can. Medium-full body, creamy, very soft carbonation. Probably the juciest of all the Wood Bros hops that I've sampled to date, the intensity of fruit and low bitterness really stand out on this beer in both batches I've tried. Just lovely stuff, definitely creeping towards 4.4 territory for me.

(On tap @ the brewpub, Aug 6/21) Backlogging, limited impressions. Oddly dull for WB and stood out in a lineup of 4 beers as a bit bland, more biscuit malt, leafy, bitter citrus, lacking punch. Medium-bodied, fairly creamy, decent mouthfeel. Not the best batch, I think.

(On tap @ the brewpub, Aug 6/21, listed as 7.8%) Backlogging, limited impressions. Relatively malty (biscuit etc), mix of some bright pineapple-focused tropical fruit and zesty, leafy resins, some pine, fairly sweet up front but pretty bitter on the back end, resins taking over a little, some hop burn. Solid but not my favourite, a bit in-the-middle in every respect (style, hop profile, ABV).

(473ml can from 4th and 7, Toronto) Pours murky slightly dull deep orange with a thick cream coloured head and big lace plus some tiny coco-floaters. Nose is intense ripe and canned pineapples with creamy coconut milk and fresh white coconut. Flavour is bright juicy super-ripe and canned pineapple mix with the slightest acidic bite, light orange/grapefruit peel bitterness, big creamy coconut cream and fresh coconut meat vibes, pina colada like for sure, sweet up front and drying slightly through the sip with light bitterness and no ABV. Medium plus bodied with soft and highly creamy carbonation. Milkshake IPA done right, even if it wasn't the freshest can it had serious adjunct concentration and a summer cocktail vibe.
