Bottle. Artificial candyish banana aroma. Pale golden, low white head. Suragur sweet candy, pisang ambon flavor, medium body - sickly sweet sticky finish, banana retronasal. With less sweetness and a bit acidity this might be drinkable. As it is - no.

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy pinkish golden colour with small, frothy, collapsing, white head. Fruity mango aroma. Taste is very sweet fruity, mango juice. Not really bad in taste, but artificial through and through.

330 ml bottle, kindly shared by abemorsten. ABV is 3.6%. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. INTENSE and sweetish aroma of passion fruit and artificial "passion fruit" candy, bordering on "sickly". The flavour is all sweet and sugary "passion fruit" soda/pop - in a blind test I would SWEAR that this was a fruit soda, and not a beer. But as I like passion fruit, I can drink it - would like to pour it over ice cubes, though.

0.33l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a clear golden one with a small bubbly and light lacing white top. Smells a lot! Really fruity and sugar sweet. Smells much more like a sports-drink than a beer. Fruity as hell, lot's and of passion sweet fruit and mango. Way to sweet! Let's taste it: Sweet syrup alert! So sticky and sweet in taste that it's actually a bit scary. Concentrated tropical syrup slushy nectar boiled in to the unrecognizable. An sour apply syrup thing tries to balance in the finish, but I feel it fails miserably. I actually made a passion fruit sorbet once and I also failed miserably on the sugar amount in the recipe. I had over 5 times as much sugar as I should, and still this is way sweeter than that. Not an enjoyable "beer". 24.09.2012

Brewed for ’New Allied African Brewery’ (I think): not to be confused with the stronger 8.5 Palm based brew they also produce at Huyghe. International Green Week, Berlin 2012: Hall 18 is a real mix of nations (Gambia, Ghana, South Africa, Spain, Peru, Malta, Thailand, Belgium and Holland to name but some), after my Slovenian Pilsner we moved on to an African bar and had a 33cl bottle of this poured into hardened Mango shell. Difficult to gauge the colour, but it seemed a slightly hazy gold in appearance with next to no head at all. The smell was of alcohol esters and sweet wood, some herbs and spices too. Weird taste, not sure what palm oil tastes like but this had a distinct flavour that I found hard to recognise, not really unpleasant, but not the sort of beer to have crates of at home either. I’ll put this down to experience: I’ve had another Dju Dju beers out of the same vessels over the years at previous Green Weeks, but never bothered to take notes before.

Beer No. 54 on my tour through Austria, Germany and Denmark.
Bottled 330ml. -from the bottle somewhere in Berlin U-Bahn. What was I thinking to choose this for the last beer that evening...Passion fruit nose. Sweetish acidic artificial passion fruit taste. Didn’t like at all.

Bottle at Haket during Gothenburg Beer Festival 2011Sampled on Friday September 2, 2011Acidic and fruity scent and taste. Loads of sweet passionfruity. Moussy mouthfeel, low bitterness. Passionfruit aftertaste. Cloudy very pale yellow straw color.Nice berry and fruit taste that works for me, fresh. Not sure I’d like to finish the whole bottle, but for sipping it is rather nice.
