Description
Mad Fox Brewing Company launched in July 2010 with the opening of our European-style Gastro Brewpub in Falls Church, VA, which also houses our brewery.

In August 2015, the Mad Fox Taproom opened in the Glover Park neighborhood of Washington, DC. We're proud to provide a unique dining experience that pairs our handcrafted, award-winning beer with an appealing menu created in a scratch kitchen using locally-sourced and sustainable products whenever possible. All of our craft beers are brewed on-site using the finest ingredients sourced from across the country and internationally as well. Taste the difference with our appealing brewpub menu featuring hand-tossed artisan pizzas, creative burgers, signature frickles, weekly specials and more. Our 63-foot bar serves as the centerpiece of the brewpub where we showcase up to ten standard, house-brewed draught beers on tap as well as a rotating selection of seasonal brews in German, English, Belgian and American styles. Taste our cask conditioned proper Real Ales served through water-jacketed Angram beer engines which ensure that every pint is served at properly conditioned cellar temperatures.

Tastes like brandy with a minimal aroma of saison, as to be expected. That being said its a decent beer, but hay notes only cone through in lightest of sense. Pours cloudy orange with OK head and lacing. Tap at meridian pint.

Two full pint pours at the brewery, throughout dinner. Poured a clear golden color with a small foamy white head. Aroma was nice citrus notes - grapefruit immediately, light floral character. Flavor had a much more balanced hop and malt to it - easy to drink, light and sessionable.

16oz pour at the brewery comes a clear gold with some sudsy, lacing white head. Nose has a solid grapefruit punch at the front, some starfruit, some mild honey, floral too. Flavor is very nice, refreshing citrus without the punch of bitterness, a little lime, some mild malt, some light tropical fruit, lightly floral. Clean finish. Very nice beer.

8oz cask pour at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber with some thin, quick fading, white head. Looks a bit oily. Nose has cherry, some vitamin C tablets, a little vinegar, some tart smelling fruit. Flavor follows suit, a little cooked greens, cherries, raspberry vinaigrette, wood pulp, a little cleaning solvent. Oily finish.
