Bottle best by 11/11/16 into a pilsner. A: Poured clear gold with a short rapidly falling head and big bubbles. Patchy lace. S: Dry grassy scent with winy green apple notes and maybe balsa wood. T: Dry apple very quickly overtaken by bitter hops of a not quite fruity, not quite piney nature. Herbal or grassy I suppose. No resin. Fresh clean taste. M: Prickly light body with a clean dry finish. Begs another sip. This is what I love most about kolsch. O: Very good, in fact a new favorite of the style. The taste and feel of this are excellent IMO. Not cheap but an easy recommendation.

Sampled on draft at Bocktown this beer poured a black color with a large creamy tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was cola, toasty malts, and a hint of vanilla. The flavor was malty and a bit woody with cola and a touch of floral hops. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

Vintage 2014(?) bottle from a trade – thanks Jason!
Aroma has sweet orange tones and red wine. Flavour has red wine, fruit juice, mild alcohol tones and woody tones. Easy-going but nothing special.

750ml bottle. Pours murky reddish orange with a smooth head. Aroma of sweet caramely malts, toffee, vinous berries, tannins and wood. Taste is smooth, sweet and malty with some sweetish vinous tannins, wood, vanilla, hints of syrup and ripe fruits. Finish is sweetish, malty and caramely with some toffee, syrup and vinous notes. Interesting.
