Bottle from Linda shop, Burton-on-Trent (not listed in RateBeer). Pours a deep rich burgundy (almost maroon / purple) with a generous, but transient, off-white head. Blackcurrants are the sole constituent of the powerful aroma, and the mainstay in the mouth as well. Theres a little malt, alcoholic strength and general summer fruits, but not much. Nice and drinkable (I guess it should be a summer drink) but basically alcoholic Ribena.

500ml can. Pours clear burgundy with a tall light pink head. Aroma is cherry, almonds, malt. Taste is heavy sweet, cherry syrup, almonds. Light bitter finish. Ok desert beer.

Bottle from Super Lincs, Lincoln. Deep reddish almost purple colour with an off white head. Aroma and taste are sweet blackcurrant. Medium body.

Appearance: cloudy gold with a moderate white frothy head of low to medium retention. Aroma: wheat bread, clove. Taste: light sweet, bready phenolic. Low bitterness. Mouth feel: light to medium body. Lively carbonation. Bottom line: not my kind of Weizen. No banana. Too phenolic.

Appearance: clear brilliant yellow with a moderate white frothy head of mediocre retention. Aroma: grain, bread, crackers, hop hints. Taste: light plus sweet, low to light bitterness.grainy. A hint of grass. Mouth feel: light to medium body, soft to average carbonation. Overall: just a pale lager.
