Bottle from the brewery, drunk 12/27/24.
Hazy bronze-blonde. Rapidly-fizzling bubbles.
Vanilla and ginger ale contributing big perceived sweetness, with good apple character towards the end. Barrel aging creates a round, mellow character, as well.
Quite sweet, though with lots of spice to balance. Ginger, vanilla, random peppery notes and good cider characteristics (mostly juicy apple and pulp). Very big, round, soft body. More vanilla and candied ginger lingering, with ginger heat retronasal. I see what they're going for here and for the most part, it works, but it's undeniably very sweet.

On tap at Cycle, pours a deep dark brown with an amber tinge and a tiny tan head. Aroma is full of rich butterscotch, light vanilla, more butterscotch, and a hint of barrel. Flavour is dominated by butterscotch, with lots of tricky toffee, caramel, booze, and light vanilla. I light appreciate this more if I hadn't just had a ton of BA Cycle beers. Regardless, this seems a bit unrefined and has too much butterscotch. Alright.

Sample kindly served by Doug. Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: mix of sweet cherries, vanilla, and some American oak. Taste: along the same lines, very smooth but bold at the same time. Overall: very nice.
