Like so many enthusiastic beer seekers, the creators of Fidens found themselves traveling all over to discover new beers and exciting breweries. As their love of craft beer and the brewing process grew they started on a small rig in the garage. Over time they brought their talents together and established the Fidens Brand at the end of 2019. The idea was simple, to open a small brewery locally where they would offer a quality product like those in their travels.

Pours a dark, cola-brown/black, with big tan head. Aroma is roasted grain, pine, citrus. Flavors follow, with some burnt toast in the mix as well. Mouthfeel is smooth. Fairly strong hop presence in the finish. This is a good black IPA.

16 oz can. Thanks to S & L. Aroma shows a moderate amount of marijuana next to peach and mango. flavor follows with the dank characteristics not being completely all up in your face. Pretty decent balance. Does get a little sweet with malt. Sweetness stacks as you drink.

6 oz. pour on tap at the brewery. Opaque, inky black, nice viscosity. Aroma is strong vanilla, fudge over roasted malt, subtle alcohol undercurrent. Taste mirrors aroma. Smooth, thick texture, full bodied, finish as taste. There is sooo much to like here, and I really want to like it, and the alcohol almost comes off as bourbon barrel aged, but not quite. Slightly off putting.

Can (2/18/26) from the brewery. Opaque, banana smoothie yellow, nice sparkle, no head or lacing (weirdly). Aroma is initial white grape, then citrus, strong late musty herb. Taste follows aroma with late biscuit. Smooth, thick texture, medium bodied, average carbonation and crisp, dry finish. I know this says "experimental hops" but tastes a lot like a Fidens' Nelson. Descendant? Tasty but doesn't blow my mind.
