Canned, thanks lgklotet! Clear amber, small head. Caramelly nose. Mid sweet and somewhat fruity with some syrup and bread. Medium bodied with well rounded mouthfeel. Average bitterness. More substance than expected.

3.5.2010. Bottle. Poured Clear pale golden with a small, frothy white head. Aroma is weak of corn and vegetables. Flavor is honey and corn. Drinkable, quite refreshing. Rerate: 7.4.2011. 4.6% Poured pale golden with a thin white head. Weak fruity aroma. Flavor is semisweet, corn and malt, hint of bitterness in finish. Very light. Quite refreshing, this time little better points, mostly the overall score.

Straw colour. No head. Somewhat acidic nose - weird fruits, very little beer character. Sour wet grain taste. Bland. Too acidic for the style.

12oz can-thanks Josh-pours a tan head that laces and dark brown color. Aroma is dark malt-licorice, earthy/spice hops. Taste is wood, dark malt-licorice, earthy/spice hops. OK beer but not quite a stout.

Bottle on 02/23/2010. Clear pale golden body with a small frothy white head. Sweet corn and honey aroma. Sweet honey flavor, light malt, and a bit of corn. Medium light body with moderately high carbonation.

Bottle in Singapore 2007. I did notice that it went quite well with the food. The beer was rather sweet with some grains and citrus. Not that bad but of course not a masterpiece.

In Scotland 2005! AP: wage golden body, medium high white head. AR: hops, rice paper. F: fresh hops, some sweetness. Singapore version, canned, tasted at 3 Nagas, Luang Prabang, Laos. This was 8.5% abv Black body with a thick light brown head. Very appetizing aroma of plums, raisins, sweet dark malts and a whiff of brettanomyces. Thick, rich body. Luscious dark chocolate, brett, sweet coffee, plums, nuts, wood and port...oh yeah. 5 8 9 4 18 = 4.5 5.5% version, brewed in Spore and consumed in Philippines. So they have really cut this beer down in size over the last several years. Dark brown, thin head. Smells like fes extract plus lager. Tastes like it, too. Thin, clean, kinda molassesy. Absolutely a disaster what they’ve done with this beer, a world classic just ten years ago. Today, just nothing. No reason to drink it.

Pours yellow/gold with a small head that fades to nothing.Aroma is a mix of grainy malt and cooked corn.Flavours are very similar, with overly sweet cooked vegetables and a weak boring bitterness.Carbonation is way too strong, and the body is very watery.

Canned, thanmks lgklotet! Near black, rich head. Strong, rather unpleaant dusty aroma. Now I understand why I was warned against this beer. Medicinal licorice and flavour with some coffee and fudge. Boldly malty with notes of syrup. Mineraly salty finish. I definitely prefer the non-Ginseng version of this.
