Sampled from bottle (thanks to 77ships) @ Tim needs to get rid of his ticks tasting. Hazy yellow orange color, full sized a bit rough white head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, a hint of hops, some bitterness, yeast and a hint of pear. A bit weird but not bad.

Apparently I was unlucky enough to get two bottles of Kamil Greenstone that had almost expired, and that received a label of the Carolus Magnus beer as the brewer ran out of original Carolus Magnus bottles for the event at Karel de Grote Hogeschool in Antwerp.
Slightly cloudy orange to amber beer, solid creamy irregular beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: green apples, sourish impression, spicy, infected? Very oxidized, bit fruity. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty bitter, some caramel malts, oxidized, sweet touch, some apples and pears, malty, more oxidation going on. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, bit sourish, very bitter, dry, very oxidized, apple skin, more bitterness.

Wheat beer commissioned by an Antwerp beer club, since 2002, packed per 12 in geuze bottles. Moussy, yellowish white, creamy and stable head, pale golden blonde colour, ochre and cloudy after adding the deposit. Doesn’t really look like a witbier and doesn’t really smell like one either: pils-like pale malts dominate, grassy hops, some coriander, sourdough, green apple, biscuit, cava, gingerbread but not much wheat. Fruity onset with citrus touch and long-stretching, sharp carbonation, pale malts with a touch of honey, again only subtle presence of wheat, spicy accents, dry sourish finish with grassy, medium hop bitterness. Thirst-quenching alright, but a witbier??

375 ml. bottle sampled @ Bier Central. I thought that I had tried this one already. Clear pale golden, okay white head. Smell is sweet lemon & wheat, fake, almost lemonade like, touch grass. Taste is very simply, not too heavy but not particularly enjoyable sugar water, watered down sweet lemonade lemon and heavy on the white sugar wheat, soap, slightly sweet BE yeast. Light body, fine carb. Very ehh, weak and sweetish in a bad way. At least they put some effort into the label, next time the beer.

(bottle, 37.5cl) Almost cloudy, pale golden colour with a big and blond foamy head. Yeasty and sweaty malty and wheaty aroma with notes of citrus and a tinge of herbal and spicy hops. Mildly sour flavour, medium to light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Wheaty and citric taste with a skunky woody touch like as if it was from untended barrels; rather dry, moderately sour-fruity and slightly sweet finish with hints of coriander, again with skunky notes. Not a hit. 29.I.13

26/VIII/2012 37.5cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ my parents' place - BB: 24/XI/13 (2012-968)
Clear pale yellow blond beer, creamy aery white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: some citrus, rubber when opening the bottle, bit grassy, some chloride. MF: soft carbon, light to medium body. Taste: little bitter, grassy, pretty watery, citrus, it herbal. Aftertaste: little bitter, some citrus, grassy bitterness. Well, at least there's some hops in it. But that's about it.

37.5cl bottle from Willems & Zoon. Dorée, claire, aspect eau, col blanc fin.
