Bottle. Barley - sweet corn syrup aroma. Dark brown with small head. Simple sugar and barley flavor. Not sure what trendiness has to do with the difference between dunkel and schwarzbier. This sample tasted on the old side as it was much sweeter than the typical dunkel - probably much better in Germany. Re-rate in Germany - actually a much light aroma and taste - much drier and hoppier. Very different but really can’t say I’d rate it much different - still not very impressive.

Dark amber beer with a decent head. Aroma is a weak malt and grassy hops. Flavour is initially slightly sweet, with a rich malt middle and a little bitter and hoppy finish.

9/10/11/10/9/10

Sweet, bready aroma. Malts control the taste though there are hints of hops in a slightly bitter underflavor. But most of the flavor is sweet with hints of brown sugar and toffee. Light to medium body. Clean and crisp going down, with a sticky finish.

Herrlich.
