Brown with a foamy head of moderate duration. Aroma of burnt herbs, metal, and caramel. Taste has good bitterness for the style, but not the roasted or grassy tones I would hope for. It has it’s grassy moments, but also has a monotone, industrial, metallic-like bitterness. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, faint, lingering caramel.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: clear yellow to semi-gold color with a two finger white foamy head dissipated gently to leave some light lace
Aroma: very light yet crisp floral to semi-grassy hop tones with a little bit of snap to them and a subtle bready malt undertone
Flavor: melds the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to snappy-ish and somewhat zesty to spicy rounded-ness; finishes snappy crisp and semi-bitter
Texture: light to medium bodied; sessionable; some smoothness but some of the hops nip the tongue a bit; good carb
Overall: pretty good pilsener that slightly made me think I was drinking a Czech styled pilsener rather than a German styled one. Hmmmm...

Green bottle to tall tulip.
Appearance: dark mahogany to almost brown color with a three finger eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: toasted almonds, caramel/toffee notes, apple flesh, dark bready sweetness and a subtle clean earthy sweetness
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to an even keeled variety of different sweet tones; finishes leaning into the dark bready to almond to caramel sweet tones
Texture: medium to full bodied; somewhat sessionable? Hmmmm...I think so; very smooth along the tongue without anything distracting; good carb level (sigh of relief cuz I'm not a fan of green bottles and I didn't see a date on this bottle which kinda made me apprehensive about trying this beer, period!)
Overall: I'd say a very nicely done Doppelbock and I would welcome this again.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear yellow with a neat and lacing, white head. Dry lemonade aroma. Thinbodied, discreet lemon notes with a discreet sweetness and an even more discreet lemon juice tartness. Nothing much beery here. 220326
