Can. Very dark brown, beige head. Mocha aroma with some earth and spices. A little drier than guessed with roast going ahead of mocha and firmish spicy bitterness. Maybe a little red berry note. There is a definite trend towards stouts without crap in them this winter and I'm happy about it,

Aromas of coffee, chocolate, nuts and dates. A little citrus with the coffee in the mouth. Very nice.

Can. Clear amber with a 2cm white head. Really is like PU (which I've had canned in the last 10 days) - perhaps slightly less buttery and less stinging bitterness, but close.

Can. A little darker than amber with a good inch of pale beige head that lasts well. Toasty and slightly earth aroma with floral and spice notes. So it tastes - barely sweet with toast and maybe a a tiny touch of roast but no caramel or fruit. Bitterness is quite firm at the end. Another good dark lager from White Bay.

Wasn't this bloke a bit of a goitre? Perhaps I have the wrong fellow. Anyway. Can. Clear brown with a good cm of pale beige head. Aroma of sweet coffee, nuts, gentle roast. Moderately sweet. More coffee that anything else but some nuts come though at the fairly bitter end.

From a 440ml can on 22/1/2025. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a medium head. The nose is dominated by candied fruit. It's a sweet one with peach, pineapple and passionfruit coming to the fore. I don't really get the citrus of guava mentioned in the blurb. Has a very slight but reasonably tangy bitter finish. Silky mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Extremely quaffable for almost 9 per cent, and undeniably pleasant drinking, though fairly basic and a bit lacking in heft and character for the size.

Can. Clear amber with a 2cm white head. Subdued crusty bread and grassy aroma. Then bread, caramel, weeds and a touch of overt alcohol. Medium sweet with a biting bitterness. Not really my sort of thing.

2024 version is 5.8%. Can. Deep gold with an inch of white head. Aroma of light biscuity dough, some floral and spicy notes. Quite rich but a little less malty than their Modisch Märzen with a distinct but still sidekick-level hoppiness.

From a 440ml can on 28/8/2024. Pours a clear amber with smallish head. The nose is lightly malty with light caramel with a dash of citrus. Tastes of caramel, nuts and orange with an earthy finish featuring some firmish pine/resin bitterness that lingers lightly. medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Nicely balanced and very satisfying.
