Pours hazy pale golden/straw color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big ruby red grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, coriander, pepper, wheat, cracker, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance of citrus juice/peels, spices, and light-moderate pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big ruby red grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, coriander, pepper, wheat, cracker, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal bitterness, yeast spice, and tangy fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of ruby red grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, coriander, pepper, wheat, cracker, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and balance of citrus juice/peels, spices, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from tart/spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp/grainy, lightly acidic, and slightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is good. A bit thin, but not watery. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is a very solid fruit beer. All around good robustness and balance of citrus juice/peels, spices, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. Barely any Wit yeast presence, but the coriander presence was solid. Tasted more like a shandy than the witbier that was advertised, but not bad at all. Nicely enjoyable and tasty.

Blackball (rum added)

Bottle. No particular aroma. Looks like lemonade mixed with iced tea. Pour has lots of sediment on the bottom. Not really overwhelming on the spiced end with the taste but a tad honey sweet. Decent co2. Yes, fairly mild beer of a different genre. Goes down goodly. Well balanced with the ginger but I don’t feel any heat. Better than expected.

Bottle. Intense ginger, wheat malt, and straw aroma. Hazy golden yellow with small head. Mildly sweet ginger, wheat malt, and very lightly bitter hay flavor. Okay body. Delivers on the ginger - pleasant.

Bottle: Hazed, yellow-amber with a thin white head and floaties. Ginger, graham cracker aroma. Taste is fairly mild ginger....really no heat....honey, wheat malt.... Ok, but it’s a bit watery and a little weak all around.

Fresh ginger nose, spearmint accents. Cloudy amber, headless. Ginger, antiseptic solution. Light body, moderate carbonation.

Bottle. A- Ginger, subtle lemon, subtle honey. A- Amber color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Ginger. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Shocking;y (no pun intended), this is actually one of the best ginger forward beers I’ve had. The ginger was certainly the main point but was not too spicy or overbearing. Complimented by a touch of honey and lemon. Drinks just fine.

Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of dark/bready malt, spices, and light-moderate yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, orange peel, coriander, clove, wheat, toasted biscuit, salt, light chocolate/nuttiness, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, orange peel, coriander, clove, wheat, toasted biscuit, salt, light chocolate/nuttiness, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of dark/bready malt, spices, and light-moderate yeast ester flavors; with a nice malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly creamy/grainy, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel; a bit on the thin side, but good. Slightly watery. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is a good witbier. All around good balance and robustness of dark/bready malt, spices, and light-moderate yeast ester flavors; very smooth, refreshing, and easy to drink. Surprisingly tasty for a gimmick beer; tastes like a balance between witbier and salted pretzel flavors. A nicely flavorful and enjoyable offering.
