12 oz bottle from a Maverik. Smells like strawberry Starburst or strawberry wafers. Definitely doesn’t smell like beer. Pours cloudy orange with a collapsing bone-white head and little flecks of sediment. Taste has a good amount of heat along with the fake strawberry. Body is very thin and watery. Good on them for actually making something this spicy. I was expecting them to be typical corporate pussies and pander to the masses with a weak pepper character. How much better would this be, though, with a fuller body and a more authentic strawberry flavor?

Bottle. It’s darker. Unmistakable pretzel. Odd mixed in beer. Seems to be more than 5%. A little artificial on the finish. Was afraid to taste this bit its better than expected. Livable.

Draft at the Ale House. Burnt-orange brown pour. Angela and tastes of a buttered pretzel and / or buttered popcorn. Just butter heavy in general. Light-medium bodied, lively carbonation. Finishes buttery. I'd call this more of a butter than a pretzel beer. Somehow better than it sounds, but still not good.

Bottle. Salt, toasted bread. and banana aroma. Dark amber with giant head. Sweet caramel malt, toast, light salt, and banana flavor. Nice body. Interesting - delivers on the pretzel aroma and flavor.

Cracker, pretzel, dark bread nose. Clear tea, thin head. Bread crust, lemon, mulberry. Tangy finish. Light body, moderate carbonation. Very interesting.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy deep ruddy copper with a slight beige head. I smells like a pretzel! Maybe a soggy one. Also a bit like theater popcorn. Near med body. The flavor doesn’t really live up to the aroma. It’s a rather soggy, overcooked pretzel taste. Doesn’t appeal.

Bottle from Walhole. Sounded interesting. Pours medium brown with no head. Actually smells like pretzels - like when you walk past one of the pretzel places in the mall. Well sheeeit, it actually tastes like a pretzel too. Unfortunately, it needs something else. Liquid pretzel would be good if you made it with the right recipe.

A lightly hazed dark amber ale with a thin white head. In aroma, loads of buttery popcorn, light berries, weird. In mouth, a sweet fruity malt with light buttery notes, boring but not offensive. On tap at Local Tavern, Terminal F, PHL.

I liked this one much more than I expected. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with orange highlights and a large foamy beige head that left decent lacing. The aroma was bread, pretzel and salt. The flavor was malty, dryish and somewhat bitter with bread crust and pretzel notes. Medium length finish. Pretzel notes increase as it warms. Medium body. Decent.
