Description
Shock Top is a traditional Belgian-Style wheat ale. It was originally created in 2006 as a seasonal brew under the name Spring Heat Spiced Wheat. After collecting gold in ’06 and bronze in ’07 in the Belgian White category at the North American Beer Awards, we decided to brew year-round and switch the name to Shock Top. We couldn’t be happier with our decision. And the best decision you can make is to try some Shock Top for yourself.

From tap. Pours fuzzy. Smell is bitter. Taste is wheat, with a weird ( arteficial?) bitterness that is very upfront. Meh dont care much about this

12oz bottle from Wegmans, West Seneca, NY. A deep mahogany colour with a fast fading tan head; milk chocolate aroma; smooth grainy texture with a chocolate milkshake taste; and a creamy finish with some lingering vanilla that cuts through the sweetness. Rather one-dimensional, but actually pleasant to drink.

Not too shabby.
That wasn't hard but for me to say.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear, dark Amber with minimal head. Aroma of salted popcorn with a hint of caramel. Taste is light sweet, follows aroma. Meh, i can see how there is some pretzel but I’m pretty much just popcorn.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a hazy dark orange with a half finger of white head. Aroma of some dark honey and a hint of bourbon. Taste follows aroma. Light sweet and very watery. Meh, not even great for what is is.

12oz bottle from Wegmans, West Seneca, NY. A hazy pale amber pour with a fast fading bright white head; sour raspberry aroma; sweet raspberry taste; with a dry metallic finish - perhaps from the coriander. Fresh and not too sickly.

12oz bottle. Poured a clear, dark brown color with a small off-white foamy head. Aroma was light chocolate notes, like chocolate milk? Flavor was sweet malts, chocolate. Finish is like Tootsie Rolls. Surprisingly not awful, but a bit too artificial.

Pours a cloudy straw from a bottle, quick-dissipating thin white head with no lacing. Smells saccharine sweet, tastes like soda. Meh.
