Dark brown, inky body with no head. Has a sweet, molasses aroma with a touch of creosote. Soft body. On the palate, has dark brown sugars, light fruitiness. Sweet finish, again with nice sticky sugars.

Tasting at Matt’s
Black color, oily, no head. The aroma is based on dark bread, some coffee, light glue. The flavor has dark chocolate character, light residual sweetness, hints of tobacco, and a bit more evident liquorice.
Nice.

(330ml bottle from BWS Surfers Paradise) Pours clear pale copper with an average white head and no lace. Aroma is pine-forward hops up front with citrus and peach in support, a decently solid malt backbone with light caramel and biscuits. Pretty fresh pine needle and grapefruit peel hop flavours, some floral qualities and a moderately strong malt base with a bit of biscuit and moderate caramel sweetness. Finish is dry with moderate pine resin bitterness. Medium bodied and slightly sticky with average carbonation. Nothing revelatory maybe, but quite a very solid IPA compared to the typical selection at a BWS store.

On tap at Beer DeLuxe Melbourne, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out biscuity malt and a touch of floral hopping. Flavour is light and restrained, with biscuity malt and light floral hopping. Dry and mellow. Meh.

On tap at The Grain Store Beer Cafe, pours a cloudy dark orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out rich resinous hops, caramel malt and some residual candied sugar. Flavour is on the sweet side, with loads of caramel, residual candied sugar sweetness and resinous hops. Too sweet and more like a hoppy barley wine. Still, quite nice for what it is. Enjoyable slow sweet sipper.

On tap at The Grain Store Beer Cafe, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of dank hops, with lots of pine and biscuity malt. Flavour brings out loads of piney hops, some light tropical fruits like guavas and just enough biscuity malt. Fresh and super piney and tropical. Fantastic.

330mL bottle, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of piney hops upfront backed by biscuity malt. Flavour is very fresh, with loads of fresh piney hops upfront with just enough dry biscuity malt to back. Loads of fresh piney hops dominate this one. Excellent.

On tap at Flat Rock Beer Cafe, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small tan head. Aroma brings out a good mix of roasted malt and piney hops. Flavour follows accordingly with lots of roasted malt and piney hops in good balance. A quintessential example of this style brewed well. Very good.
