Cask at The Local Taphouse, Melbourne. Hazy amber. Restrained grapefruit aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Slight caramel and pine, mere hints of wood. Resiny bitter finish. Had to double check with the bartender he poured me the right beer.

Pours gold with a small head.Nose shows grassy and spicy hops, soft light malt and hay.Similar flavours with the same spicy hop notes and some light sweet pilsner-like malt followed by an assertive bitterness.Nice moderately light body, could use a bit more carbonation though.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s, big thanks to Josh for this home product, 16/01/14. Pitch black with a good sized tan head that dissipates to a pond and edgework. Nose carries a lactic ring, treacle toffee, dark chocolate, light smoke. Taste comprises rich chocolate, dark roastings, toffee, molasses. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet closure. Ok impy but a little too sweet and lacking depth and balance to be one I’d want to return to.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Josh. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is light dry and slightly crisp. Somewhat oxidised tasting chocolate -caramel malt. Light dry finish. It’s fundamentally okay but tastes a bit tired.

Bottle thanks to J-to-the-osh. It pours near black with a small tan head. The nose is roasted malt, dark chocolate, liquorice, coffee, candy and rocky road. The taste is rich roast, liquorice, earth, rocky road, caramel blackcurrant jam and light bitterness. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Has a nice jammy element to it. Solid stuff.

Bottle shared in London - thanks, Josh! Pours deep brown with a creamy tan head. The nose has burnt wood, dark chocolate, toasted coconut. Medium sweet flavor, dirty cocoa, good roast, earth. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Light warmth to finish, burnt wood, bitter dark chocolate, leathery berries. Good stuff. Well balanced.

From a 330ml bottle on 12/1/2014. Pours a clear light golden with a thick white head and lots of bubbles. Has a very pleasant floral aroma with some passionfruit. The flavour features bready malt with lots more citrus, tropical and stone fruit (lemon, peach and more passionfruit). Finishes with some firm bittering hops. Has a medium body and very lively carbonation (could probably use just a touch less). This is a very nice, refreshing brew which would be just perfect for a summer session.

Slightly hazy dark amber. Thick head. Rich hoppy, fruity notes with sweet, slightly caramelly malts. Has a nice, balanced, chewy barley wine character like a cross between Big Foot and the departed Young’s Old Nick.

Bottled, thanks baggio! Black and near viscous with small brown head. Aroma of crude oil and tar. Thick and heavy, really sweet with full body and soft, albeit sticky mouthfeel. Molasses, tar and licorice. Warming finish. Heavy and unrefined, like crude oil.
