Trocken rauchiger, fast verbrannter Antrunk. Disharmonisch, wenig würzig, sehr hohe Karbonisierung. Zum Ende süßer, weiterhin verbrannt. Naja... 11/8/8/8/11/8

330ml bottle. Pours an orangey amber colour, foamy off-white head leaving some lacing and aroma of mango, passionfruit, orange hoppy. Taste is juicy tropical fruits & sweet floral orangey citrus nicely balanced against a malt caramel backbone, with some hop resin bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, medium carbonation, dry bitter finish. Very drinkable IPA.

Blumig hopfiger Antrunk. 11/12/9/10/8/9

Bottle. Near black with a slight, off-white head. Tarry porter, with a mars bar mix of caramel and milk chocolate, solid roastiness and a touch of smoke in the finish. Good.

Bottle. Hazy copper with a decent, off-white head. Belgian yeast character, berry fruits, caramel and a hint of spice, leading to a dryish finish. Very good.

Pours dark brown with ruby tints and a lasting head.Vinuous malty aroma. Lots of caramel alongside floral and piny hops, booze and oxidised port notes.Rich malty flavours too. Again theres lots of caramel and masses of piny hops.Nice syrupy body, could use a little more carbonation though. The alcohol seems a bit to bold.

Pours deep amber with a large fading head.Very heavy phenols on the nose along with herbal and earthy hops and a funky Belgian doughy yeast note.Very hoppy flavours but sticking to herbal, earthy and spicy varieties. Some subtle sweet malt and floral notes followed by an assertive but well-balanced bitterness.Feels a bit syrupy.

[5/13] What’s going on? Tap(ped today). Hazy golden amber with a white head that lasts. Who’s on the phone? Aroma of passionfruit and other tropical fruits, pine, nectarine, orange blossoms. Bartender says feijoa: yep. Love me? Oily. Big stone fruit sweetness brushed away by strong resinous bitterness. Peaches, tropical fruit, pepper, pine. Only a little boozy, pretty dangerously quaffable. Tight, punchy palate. Finish is dry: the sweetness is there early, but the gate slams shut on it leaving zingy aromatics and just a slight touch of booze. Want me? Pretty stunning stuff. [4/17] Tap. Again a couple of hours after it was tapped, this time by coincidence. There have been a number of other good Australian IIPAs recently (I might have to stop denying that I like them) but this still stands out for me. Mind you, most of them have been in bottles. A big aromatic hop punch. It’s sweet but not cloying and the "dry even more than bitter" finish is very good. If there weren’t a little touch of booze assisting with the dryness of the finish it’d be even more impressive. [4/18] Again by chance on Tusk day @ The Local Taphouse. Perhaps the finish is a bit too pithy this time. But really lovely.
