Bottle from Valhalla's Goat. Pours hazy lively golden with a thin white head and a couple of floaters. Strong bretty nose, orange peel, oak. Taste is dry, bitter, funky, citrus, more wood. Complex.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Cork & Cask. Pours clear gold with a creamy, pure white head. Light-medium sweet funky, pale grain, grass, yeast, citrus peel. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Subtly warming finish, nips of peach, honey, more funk, pale bread. Quite nice.

Bottle from the Wee Vault. Appearance - dark brown to black with a tan head. Nose - roast malts, damp cellar and a very gentle hint of sourness (but not really). Taste - dry and roasty, wet stone and dry yeasty. Palate - light bodied, thin and very dry. Not much in the way of Porter sweetness nor any sourness, that others seem to be getting. Overall - I don't get what the plan was here! But I'll keep trying their beers.

Bottle from Eltham Wines. Murky gold pour with a white head. Nose of lemon zest, green apple, orange peel, apricot jam. Taste is baked apple, banana bread, citric peel, orange marmalade. Boozy citric finish. Excellent.

Bottle from Cork and Cask. Pours just-clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of sweet white wine, orange, lemon, faint wood, pale malt. Taste is lemon, white grapes, sweet malt and wood at the back. Light bitter finish. Interesting as usual from Epochal.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Cork & Cask online. Pours clear yellow-gold, lightly effervescent, with a billowing, frothy white head. Lightly sweet with notes of crispy straw, mild funk, lemon rind, a little cellar, bitter grass, dirty hay. Light bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Clean finish, more grass, straw, citrus peel, funk, cellar, a smattering of cobwebs. Good stuff overall.

25/12/2021. Bottle from Hoptimism. Christmas countdown beer 0 on Christmas Day. Pours hazy pale amber with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is woody, fruity, herbal, citrus, straw, yeast. Moderate sweetness and tartness. Medium body, average carbonation. Drying finish. Good.
