Sampled on draft this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy brown head that left great lacing. The aroma was malty, a touch roasty and had a floral hop note. The flavor was very malty with anise and floral hops. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied and smooth.

Refrigerated 16 oz. aluminum can poured into a cup. Black with medium beige head. Aroma is cocoa, medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is chocolate and maple syrup, vanilla, and some blueberry.

The aroma was roasty and malty with vanilla, cocoa, and hints of floral hops and wood. The flavor was toasty malts, cocoa, sweet dark fruits, caramel and coffee. Long finish. Moderately full bodied and very smooth.
