Description
A Woman Owned and Managed Brewery, Young Lion Brewing Company (YLBC) opened its doors in June of 2017. One of the larger microbreweries in New York State; Young Lion maintains a 10,000 BBL production brewery, 1000 sq ft. Taproom and 2400 sq ft. Event space.

Sitting on the beautiful, northern shore of Canandaigua Lake, YLBC’s tap room and event space enjoy the most sun soaked, desirable views of the entire lake and its bordering southern mountains. Young Lion is distributed by Wright Beverage across Western NY.

Once you enter the brewery you’ll smell the specialty malt coming from the mill room, you’ll notice our 3 vessel, 35 barrel brew house amongst a forest of 90 barrel fermenters and you’ll watch our Westfalia centrifuge create magic.

Overseeing the 35-barrel brewhouse, five 90-barrel fermenters, Wild Goose canning system, is our experienced head brewer, Phil Platz. Phil has produced a diverse and award-winning portfolio for Young Lion. Young Lion’s core beers include; an award-winning Czech Pilsner, IPA, Double IPA, Stout, and Bourbon Barrel Stout.

Keg at pour taproom buffalo. Pours hazy orange, nose is grape, lime, floral, taste is juicy grape, sweet, floral.

Taster at YL. Cloudy golden, skimpy head, curtains of lacing. Sweet, bready aroma. Taste is sweet, smooth, light hoppiness. Can't place the flavor, but this is super smooth, delicate and tasty. Way too gentle for a DIPA.

Taster at YL. Dark brown pour, minimal head. Roasty aroma, light bitterness. Taste is mildly sweet, chocolate, bitter. Soft, approachable.
