Description
Founded by Karan Bilmoria in 1989. The beer was initially brewed at Mysore Breweries in India but, from 1996, was brewed under contract in the UK by Charles Wells. The company went into administration in 2009 and the business was acquired by a joint venture company owned 50.1% by Molson Coors and 49.9% by Karan Bilmoria. Since then the majority of the beer has been brewed at Molson Coors UK’s Burton brewery but the company also has production facilities in Patna, India.

Keg at the Hare & Hounds, Brighton. Pours dark gold with a large head. Aroma is acrid, bitter straw. Taste has fruity hops, caramel and tea.

Pours clear amber with an acerbic rice head. Aroma is acerbic. Taste has malty notes, not much else. Palate has slightly smokey malt elements. Eh.

Bottle in Indian restaurant, Hengelo. Grainy aroma. Grainy soft grassy flavor. Soapy aftertaste. Crap, but drinkable with Indian food.

On tap at a curry house. Pours pale yellow. Light, reasonably crisp hop character with some light cereal and some slight sulfur. Not much body. Cold and not badly made. Fine.

Tap at Curry Leaf East, 23rd July 19. Pours clear golden. Aroma is fruity, slight tart. Taste is fruity, slight citrus, artificial lemon. It’s not great.
