Draft at Highlands Hollow. Seems kind of thin. Dark brown / near black pour, barely there head. Aroma is pure roast malts, taste the same, bitterness lingers. Would have made a great schwarzbier.

On tap at Boise brewpub. Dark, murky amber with small creamy head. Thick, oily body with plenty of malt sweetness and hop tang. Faint malty aroma, fuller malty taste, tangy, spicy finish.

Tap at the brewpub. Golden orange color with a modest white head, bits of sticky lacing. Mild aroma is sweet, caramel malts and sort of a fruity yeast. Tastes sweet, almost artificially so. Lots of malts, not much in the way of hops.

Draft at brewpub. Dark, clear brown with small, creamy head. Dark, toasty, nutty nose. Taste follows with some mild bittersweet notes. A bit of a dry finish, lingering bitterness. Not my favorite style, but this one’s well done.

On Tap at the Boise BP Hazy golden. Thin soapy head and lacing. Mild light malt grainy aroma and very light hop profile. Lacing a little of the noble hop bite but nice slightly sweet light beer.
