From tap at Flounder Inn, Waldport. Malt-forward IPA with bready toasted malt, caramel, resinous and a bit earthy hops, spruce, touch of marmalade and berries. Flavour is moderate sweet with an above medium bitter finish. Body is medium. Drinkable, malty and resinous with marmalade. Has a curious hop profile of which I’m not the world’s biggest fan.

The aromas are citrus pith and pine resin with some pale malt. Flavors are like nose, nice low bitter with some sweet at first and growing bitter towards the end. Some very mild odd chemical and medicinal qualities at the finish. Good mouth feel and drinkable.

Taster at Loyal Legion. Dark amber with small skin of head. Sweetish aroma, cheery cough syrup. Taste is more of the cherries, not enough of the spruce. Sharp hoppy bitterness too.
