Description
It was more than 335 years ago that Jean de Chaine from Wallonia founded a brewpub in Mannheim which he called Eichbaum, the German translation of his family name. Today, this is one of the largest and most efficient breweries in Baden-Württemberg. It is the oldest company in Mannheim but also one of the most modern. State-of-the-art brewing and bottling technologies make for an annual output of 1.8 million hectolitres. More than 16 different beers and many different trading units make Privatbrauerei Eichbaum an attractive partner.

Declared insolvency in late autmn 2025.

50 cl can. Pours clear yellow, white head. Aroma is piney and herbal hoppy. Bitter. Herbal hoppy. Dry and lingering hoppy. Herbal and medium dry far finish.

Clear pale gold with a tall frothy white head. Cracker pale malt, herbal & grassy hop. Fruity hints. Medium dry. medium hop bitterness. No refinement. Not the best hop profile. Still, drinkable.

Barwa ciemnozłota, zmętnione, piana biała, średnio obfita, średnio trwała.

W aromacie lekki banan.

W smaku wytrawne, mało kwaskowe, nieznaczne nuty banana i jeszcze mniejsze goździka.

Wysycenie średnie, ciało wodniste.

Nijaki, płaski weizen.

Sankt Bartholomäus Hefeweizen Hell je klasični svijetli njemački pšenični lager–ale stil (Hefeweizen) koji igra na kartu mekoće, svježine i aromatične kvasne note. Već na mirisu obično dolaze tipične hefeweizen arome – banana, malo klinčića, lagana citrusna svježina i mekani krušni tonovi pšenice. U ustima je puna, ali pitka, s nježnim tijelom i gotovo kremastim završetkom. To nije pivo koje pokušava biti glasno – više je ono bavarsko: sjedni, opusti se i uzmi veliki gutljaj. 🍺

Ime Sankt Bartholomäus dolazi od Saint Bartholomew – svetog Bartola (Bartolomeja), jednog od dvanaestorice Isusovih apostola. Prema kršćanskoj predaji potjecao je iz područja Galileje (današnji sjever Israel). Smatra se da je nakon Isusove smrti propovijedao vrlo daleko od Svete zemlje – predaje ga povezuju s područjima Armenia, Mezopotamije i Indije.

Najpoznatiji je po svom mučeništvu – prema tradiciji stradao je vrlo okrutno jer nije htio napustiti svoju vjeru. Zato ga se često prikazuje s neobičnim simbolom – nožem, koji je postao njegov prepoznatljiv atribut u umjetnosti. Danas je zaštitnik raznih obrtnika i često ga se povezuje s ustrajnošću i izdržljivošću.

Pa ako spojimo ime i stil pive: Sankt Bartholomäus Hefeweizen Hell nije pivo za osvajanje svijeta – nego za mirno bavarsko popodne, uz perec, dobar razgovor i osjećaj da život ipak nije tako kompliciran. 🍻
