Description
4th Tap is a small, worker-owned brewery located in north Austin. A couple of Austin-natives banded together with a few transplants from Houston, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi to build the 4th Tap brewery in their old stomping grounds of north/central Austin. After 6 years of work, they finally opened their doors to the public in late 2015 with a focus on inspired ingredients to make honest beer.

On tap at 4th Tap Collective, pours jet black with a medium light brown head. Aroma brings out charcoal, wood, booze and roast. Flavour is bizarre, with lots of wood, sludgy chalk, cocoa and bourbon. Dirty and heavy, but it's pleasant in a strange way.

On tap at 4th Tap, pours a hazy amber orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out caramel, dark fruits and cloying brown sugar. Flavour is abrasive, with cloyingly sweet candied sugar, caramel and red fruits. Boozy and sweet, and almost cough syrupy. Not a good example of the style.
