0.25 l bottle, courtesy of Doggythedog, thanks for bringing it to tasting tonight! Poured deep golden body with tiny head. Strong hoppy and yeasty aroma of orange, a bit sourish with some sweetish malt. Watery, quite empty, but very pleasant malty aroma. Distinct sourness keeps it very special comparing to other beers, yeasty, reminding to orange. Although thin bodied, it had medium long finish. Quite interesting brew, pretty nice.
New rating, 05/2012:
They changed the recipe, it’s now hazy, golden bodied, apparently unlike Ekolosko nefiltrirano, which is discontinued. Might not be in its best shape to rate, it was almost flat, but generally not a bad beer. Reading old notes I would lower the total score for 2 or 3 point but definitely need a rerate once.

Draught at the brewpub.
Dark brown coloured, creamy beige Guinness like head, mild chocolate nose. Mild roasted malty aroma with notes of chocolate, coffee and toffe. Very pleasant surprise indeed.

Update:Honestly - when we first tried Kahli’s dark beer, it was an absolute stunner, rarely did a brewpub manage to pull off such a brilliant dark lager on their first try. Subsequent tastings, 5 or so years after revealed a beer that’s still good, but lacked the complexity and the body of the original, a more simple caramelly, fruity affair, so I have to lower the rates slightly - the value was still enormous when you got it at the brewpub.2007 review:0.5l bottle from the brewpub courtesy of and shared with ozujsko (thanks!) Man, I was so glad when I found out that another brewery here "dared" to make something that’s not a pale lager (or its close kin). And yeah, I was even more glad when I found out that it was actually good! It poured an opaque black body streaked with brown around the bottom of the glass (so, a really dark brown colour.. heh). Thick, creamy beigy head that went away slowly. Nice. Roasty malty nose with weak notes of coffee and chocolate. The taste was lovely but not flashy, fine, smooth, like cappucino, or like those "cappuccino" flavoured filled wafers. It’s a bit light, but in a good way. Short, roasty aftertaste. We need more beers like this one here. We can obviously produce good, even great dark beers and yet the breweries are so damn reluctant to do them. 7/4/8/4/16

New Review: 1l brown bottle courtesy of a friend (thanks Marina !) They’ve changed the shape of the label a bit and it now looks a little.... less trashy. Poured a golden colour with a small, thick white head (deja vu :)). The nose is malty, with some hops bursting through from time to time. Some brewpubby yeasty hints too.... nothing tooo special but ok. The taste is... light... watery, very pleasant. Yes, almost exactly like last time only without the diacetyl. The same pleasant light lemony hopiness (Goldings I bet) and a passable malty body...hmm... maaybe, just maybe corn, but I’m definitely far from sure on that one. Some yeastiness. Weak, weak hoppy aftertaste. Overall, it turns out in the end to be a bit too weak and watery. Not sure how filtering could’ve possibly benefited this one. It could definitelly use more body and more hops. It’s very drinkable and far from unpleasant, but it gets boring after 0.5l. So it’d seem that I was a bit off. 2.7-8 fresh. Old Review1l green wine(!) bottle courtesy of ozujsko (thanks) It poured a dark orange colour with a small thick white head that went away fast. The nose was malty, with a noticable presence of butter (diacetyl I guess). It tastes... interesting. A light lemony hoppiness stands on a full malty, yeasty and buttery body. Diacetyl seems to complement the taste, well, nicely. Odd. Very faint hoppy aftertaste. I’m giving it the ratings I think it would get if I tasted it fresh. If I do that, and it doesn’t change, the numbers might resemble ozujsko’s more. (6/3/6/3/12)
