Cask@Black Door, Helsinki. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is leather, some toffee and some floral notes. Nutty and mildly yeasty notes in the flavour, with also some slight peated notes.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. A dark chestnut pour with a tight cream head; nutty aroma with some well roasted malts in the background; silky smooth in the mouth with a creamy toffee taste and a hint of earthy chocolate malt; then a light spicy bitterness before a satisfying syrupy finish. Excellent.

Cask@Black Door. Clear copper, small steady white head. Nutty and flowery aroma. Light-bodied. Grassy, fruity, pear flavor. Easygoing. Nice hoppy aftertaste.

Cask. Appearance is clear amber, with a foamy off-white head. Aroma of caramel and stewed apple. Taste- malts, soft dark fruits, apple crumble. Plenty of flavour for the abv.

500ml bottle at home on 1st April 2016. Poured into an Abbot Ale glass pint tankard. Clear and clean golden body, the head a full white blanket of foam. Strange aroma and taste, Saison like farmyard esters and flavours: wasn’t expecting that. Some malty sweetness within the flavouring, honey like flavourings too. Not the best Grainstore beer for me by a long, long way.

Handpull cask at the Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford. Tawny/amber, clear with a huge off-white head. Lively little bugger... Aroma is light, some citrus and floral notes reward the hardworking nose. Improvement in the sweet taste, which turns more bitter toward the long finish. Lime juice in the aftertaste. Decent enough beer although more personality would’ve been welcomed.

Cask (handpump) @ The Roebuck Inn (JDW), 9-11 St. James Street, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England NG1 6FH. [ As Grainstore Tupping Ale ].Clear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, pale malt, fruity malt, toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, caramel, pale malt, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141013]

15th March 2016: cask at the brewery. Half-pint at lunchtime and a pint during the evening. Red hue to the deep amber coloured body, decent staying head. Malty and semi-sweet in nature, very little bitterness, my sweet tooth really liked it.

Cask half-pint at the source on 15th March 2016. Golden pour with a full white head. Light malty aroma and taste with a hop balance in the flavour. Decent enough lunchtime throwing beer, or long evening session ale. I was on a mission though, so had to move on.

Cask pint in the brewery tap on 15th March 2016. Very dark body, almost black, the head a creamy tanned deep blanket. Malts all the way here, roasted aroma with both coffee and chocolate flavours coming through in the taste. Slight bitter finish.
