Aroma: Light coffee and brown sugar. Very weak aroma.
Appearance: Black body with a small tan head that retains fairly well. Nice lacing.
Taste: Light flavours of milk chocolate, smoke and prune with a gentle bitter finish. Tastes weak and diluted. Inoffensive.
Palate: Thin, watery body with a slick, oily mouthfeel. Flat carbonation.
Overall: Easy drinking, but weak and boring. What little flavour there is becomes more apparent as the beer warms.

Cask at Hamilton Hall, JDW, London. Pours clear gold with a creamy, pale head. Crispy malt nose with some leaves, wood and hay. Light sweet flavor with plastic-like bitterness, some underripe lemon, straw, green grass. Light bodied with average carbonation. Crisp, lightly biting finish with mild dough, toast, grass, woody leaves, plastic and straw. There’s a surprisingly abrasive hop presence in the aftertaste, mostly green grass. Somewhat out of balance, and the elements themselves aren’t awesome.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Golden amber with a thin white head; fruity aroma; soft in the mouth with a peachy flavour and a grainy body; gentle, but lasting, crisp bitterness to finish with a touch of citrus. I rather liked this.

[500ml bottle from Wyevale Garden Centre, Twyford] Admittedly bought this to complete my English counties, but was well worth buying anyway! Poured black with a moderate cream head. Slight fizz. Coffee on the nose, but oddly in the initial taste fruit dominates - blackcurrant with maybe some liquorice. There’s chocolatey hints, before a good deep roasty, almost ashy finish. Really good flavours, although maybe a little thin in the mouth. An excellent mild that I would love to try on cask.

From tap. Pours roasted malty and smooth bitter. Roasted and csramelish into the finish. Dry, herbal and spiced. Smoothand dark malty, bitter and roasted malty, dry and bitter finish.

Bottle. Fruity vegetable aroma. Hazy amber colour. Very small white head. The flavour is grainy with a little green apple. Better than it sounds.

Hazy dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, chocolate and a hint of butter. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Dry and light bitter finish. 010512

Bottle, 3.4%. Dark brown with medium tan head. Aroma is light roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and a little caramel. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, little coffee, little bitter, medium sweet, caramel with notes of butter.
