Cask-conditioned at the Willow Walk (JDW), London 16/5/08. Near black in colour with a slight, tan head. Roasted malt/coffee aroma with a hint of bitter chocolate. Flavour of chewy malt, more chocolate and a touch of saltiness. Good.

Cask at The Turf Tavern, Oxford, 31-12-07 Poured amber with small white head. A fresh and fruity little number with good bitterness, quite enjoyable. A6 A3 T7 P4 Ov14 3.4 Had this again On cask, handpump at The Grainstore Brewpub, Oakham, Rutland 14.05.11 Pours amber with a thin white head. There is a light toffee aroma, good bitterness throughout, in fact the bitterness really stick, some citrus. Nice beer. A7 A3 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Cask at standing order beer festival ... rich hop resins ... juicy hop ... but not a hop im a fan of ... with a bitter linger and pleasent syrupyness. Nice but not quite workinbg for me.

Cask@Melton Mowbray Beer Festival 2007. Black beer with a red tinge. The aroma is roasted and dry and the flavour is dry and toffee. Overall a nice hopped beer.

Cask @ GBBF 2007, London. Dark brown color with a average to small, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, dry fruits, notes of licorice. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat.

Cask Very deep dark brown, Coca-Cola colour with B.C.H. Oily film on the beer? Chocolate, dark bitter chocolate, bit spicy; coloured malts to the fore. Soft sweet, milkchocolate, and a pinch of tobacco. Edo says laurelleaf. Medium bodied, a bit oily, slick. Decent dark mild, not to get wild over, but at least not too sweet.

Cask@GBBF2007. Dark amber colour, mediumsized creamy brown head. Aroma is wood, caramel and dark dry fruit. Flavour is dark fruits, slight malts, earth and hay. Quite dry palate.

Cask at Peterborough Beer Fest. Dark brown. Mildly roasty aroma. Dryish, soft and fruity. Fills my mouth with flavour despite it’s low gravity. NOtes of tobacco and chocolate. Low bitterness. Wonderfully pleasing.

Cask gravity at Kent BF 07. Badged as Triple B. Copper with thin off white head. Fairly standard best bitter. Has some nice malty fruit. Drinks ok. Bit acidic maybe, bit sharp.
