Bottle thanks to stevoj pours out dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is sweet barrel notes chocolate vanilla cookies nice. Taste is more of the nice sweet chocolate rum barrel notes vanilla.

Bottle from SLC. Dark brown, ruby highlights, small ring of head. Aroma is predominantly sweet, then roasty. Taste adds light rum elements, woody, sweet.

Can shared at columbus tasting 09/10/2019. Many Thanks! A mostly clear dull golden orange coloured pour with a loose white head. Aroma is little toffee, biscuit, vanilla, some dull pine, orange. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, biscuity grains, dull grains, hot alcohol, piney hop, orange rind, . Lingering hot alcohol. Palate is semi sweet, grainy, moderate carbonation. Meh. Not very tropical.

Bottle picked up at the co-op. Pours clear dark brown with a small beige head, light lacing. Aroma is dark rum. Taste is black licorice, rum, brown sugar, bitter finish. This really is bad. 3 of us are drinking this, none of us can finish a glass. The rum and doppelbock don't work together.
