Description
Our story originates from the dreams of a German immigrant and his passion for beer. Otto Bemberg, who arrived in our country in 1852, founded the Cervecería Argentina in the city of Quilmes in 1888. After two years, on October 31, 1890, the first chopp was served and from there the iconic beer began to be sold under the Quilmes brand, in honor of the old indigenous name of the town, where this dream materialized. These would be just the first steps of a project that, over time, would become one of the main companies in Argentina. During the years to come, the company grew exponentially, in 1910 it reached 100% beer production.

In 2002 we sealed the strategic association with AmBev and in 2006 we finalized the transfer of our majority shareholding package. We are currently part of AB-InBev, the world's leading brewing company, based in Leuven, Belgium, with a portfolio of more than 200 brands.

340ml bottle into schooner glass. Smells of stale malt and cardboard, think Euro-supermarket beer. Deep ruby red colour with thin film of lacing on top. Full bodied and milk chocolate sweet, tastes nice. Finish is malty with a lingering cornflake taste. Not bad, like a cross between a sweet stout and a dark lager.

Bottle. Dark brown with a light tan head. Bread and caramel aroma with light roast. Kvassish. Really sweet with very light roast, heaps of dark sugar, bread. A little spicy at the end which provides some relief. Not my sort of thing.

960cl bottle at an Argentinian restaurant in SP, Brazil. Pale yellow color, clear, average white head. Lageryish, slightly grainy and straw. Average carbonation, light body, watery. Average macro.

Bottle. Pours clear golden whiteish head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is grains, malt, alcohol. Flavor is sweet, grains, maize, malt. Overall: not good.

340ml bottle into glass. Sweet sweet malt nose. Very pale yellow beer with solid white head which disappeared rapidly. Light carbonation. Clean, crisp and sweet. Tiny touch of metallic hops in the finish. Inconsequential but easy to drink.

Appearance: Yellow golden, clear. Fizzy head.
Aroma: Slight malt, grains.
Taste: Light malt, grains, straw. Refreshing in this heat, I guess.

Dorada clara, de escasa espuma. Aroma cereal, minimamente cítrico. En boca, aguada, sin cuerpo. Sabor cereal, plana. Sólo sirve para refrescar.

Bottle. Clear golden colour with a medium sized white head. Grassy/hay aroma. Taste is slightly sweet malts, hops, faint floral note. Mouthfeel getting towards watery. Very easy drinking. Overall the nicest nicest lager I’ve had from the Latin/South America region so far.
