Description
Our story originates from the dreams of a German immigrant and his passion for beer. Otto Bemberg, who arrived in our country in 1852, founded the Cervecería Argentina in the city of Quilmes in 1888. After two years, on October 31, 1890, the first chopp was served and from there the iconic beer began to be sold under the Quilmes brand, in honor of the old indigenous name of the town, where this dream materialized. These would be just the first steps of a project that, over time, would become one of the main companies in Argentina. During the years to come, the company grew exponentially, in 1910 it reached 100% beer production.

In 2002 we sealed the strategic association with AmBev and in 2006 we finalized the transfer of our majority shareholding package. We are currently part of AB-InBev, the world's leading brewing company, based in Leuven, Belgium, with a portfolio of more than 200 brands.

Ich habe das Bier 2015 auf einem internationalen Food-Festival in der UNO-City in Wien getrunken. Es ist ein recht leichtes, schon ins Fade hineingehendes Helles. Kann man trinken, wird aber schnell langweilig.

Lemon-ish yellow with white head. Dampened aromas: banana, croissant. Fresh and fizzy, very light. Almost no bitterness. Short-lingering. Easy to drink, easy to forget.

Bottle from Exotic World, Leuven. Pale golden, medium carbonation. Sweet nose. Malty, light bitter and rather dry lager. Boring but not the worst.

Tasted as the export version Quilmes Cerveza. Argentina’s national standard lager, with thin and fairly unstable but nevertheless nicely lacing, snow white head, colour cristal clear golden blonde, very pale with vaguely greenish hue and vivid sparkling. Weak aroma of slightly sourish grains and sweetish corn, faint hint of iron, some minerals, very weak grassy hops present far away in the background. Neutral taste, quite crisp but not more so than mineral water, some unmistakable corn sweetness, grainy sourish touch, medium carbonation, watery and bit metallic body, minerals in the finish but practically no hop bitterness worth mentioning, so ending thin, neutral and watery. The aroma and taste of this are so weak that even the corn presence, which I dislike, cannot bother me here; this is almost as neutral as Corona... Quenching alright, but that goes for sparkling water too.

BOTTLE 33 CL.
Light malt sweetness, fruit with some bizarre spicy mineral notes. No hops. Not terrible.

0.355l bottle. Clear pale yellow body, quickly disappearing white head. The aroma is not so intense. Mostly grainy with some hay. Sweet grainy taste. Watery body. Not the best lager ever, but it’s OK if it’s cold.

From a 33 cl bottle shared at home. Pours a pale gold with an off white head. Grainy nose. Flavors of light biscuit and sweet corn. Just a run of the mill pale lager.
