Description
Our story originates from the dreams of a German immigrant and his passion for beer. Otto Bemberg, who arrived in our country in 1852, founded the Cervecería Argentina in the city of Quilmes in 1888. After two years, on October 31, 1890, the first chopp was served and from there the iconic beer began to be sold under the Quilmes brand, in honor of the old indigenous name of the town, where this dream materialized. These would be just the first steps of a project that, over time, would become one of the main companies in Argentina. During the years to come, the company grew exponentially, in 1910 it reached 100% beer production.

In 2002 we sealed the strategic association with AmBev and in 2006 we finalized the transfer of our majority shareholding package. We are currently part of AB-InBev, the world's leading brewing company, based in Leuven, Belgium, with a portfolio of more than 200 brands.

Bottle. Pours pale yellow clear with a large fizzy white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is of corn, grass and a touch of urine. Flavor is mildly sweet corn, slightly floral, finishing lightly bitter.

Bottle. Pours clear yellow with white head. Nose and taste of corn, pepper, metal cans and creamed corn. Light body.

Smell of rubber, some malt. Pale golden colour, foamy head. Rubbery, artificial aroma. Sharp, yet watery.

Distinctive for being undistinctive, although the label is pretty. Ordinary lager.

November 2008: First beer in my lager reviewing evening (came second out of three for score). Also the first Argie beer I’ve knowingly ever had. Brown 330ml bottle, poured into one of my Veltins Pilsner stemmed glasses. Very pale golden colour with a brilliant white head. Looked crisp and clear, if a little anaemic (anemic in American). OK lager taste, but nothing stood out and grabbed me with this beer. The 4.9% wasn’t to be found either, it wasn’t wishy-washy, but it wasn’t a full bodied little babe you could cuddle up too.

330ml bottle. Clear pale golden colour with small frothy white head. Grainy and minimal caramel malty aroma. Monotonous slightly sweet flat malty taste.

970ml bottle. Pours a pale gold with a medium, frothy head. Aroma is corn and lemon. Taste has corn and grass to start. Some lemon on the finish.

Rerate from can: Certainly a fresher sample than last time, light grassy hops on a ok grainy body, light restsweetness, ok inoffensive international pils. Bottle. pale yellow, dishwater head Hay aroma, hayish sourness, the barest notion of hops lightbodied "Argentinas favourite beer", come on Argentina you can do better than this!

Grabbed at a grocer in San Juan where there is decdent Argentinian presence it seems based on a few steak houses I spotted. Pours dull with no nose. Tastes of water, corn, grain, metal, and did I say water. Anyways I was dehydrated from day at beach so this alcoholic water didn’t go to waste.
