Description
Our story originates from the dreams of a German immigrant and his passion for beer. Otto Bemberg, who arrived in our country in 1852, founded the Cervecería Argentina in the city of Quilmes in 1888. After two years, on October 31, 1890, the first chopp was served and from there the iconic beer began to be sold under the Quilmes brand, in honor of the old indigenous name of the town, where this dream materialized. These would be just the first steps of a project that, over time, would become one of the main companies in Argentina. During the years to come, the company grew exponentially, in 1910 it reached 100% beer production.

In 2002 we sealed the strategic association with AmBev and in 2006 we finalized the transfer of our majority shareholding package. We are currently part of AB-InBev, the world's leading brewing company, based in Leuven, Belgium, with a portfolio of more than 200 brands.

The label says it’s cold because it has a picture of the Andes and it is. What it doesn’t say is how bad the beer tastes. Some light wheat, and the ’blanca’ pours more of a piss lager yellow.

Just looking at the label you know something is wrong when it’s called Iguana and there’s a photo of a gecko. And it goes it all goes downhill from there. Sour, half rancid taste of nothing, watery colour. Bad.

Pours red, tastes like nothing, really. Gets bad eventually, but better than the cristal

This is one trashy stout. No gas, and an almost sickening level of sweetness. The whole affairs ends in a sweet, honey like aftertaste that I can’t seem to get rid of.

Smells a little bad, taste is a bit fuller than Quilmes cristal and I guess that’s why I remember it being alright, but fresh off decent beer it doesn’t have much going for it. Slight hint of bitter, that’s it.

33cl bottle found at the xmas market in Brussels.

33cl bottle as Quilmes Cerveza, from Utobeer, London. Clear pale yellow, large thick white head. Smell malts and grains. Taste malts, lightly grainy. An ok pilsener, drinkable I would say. Ok carbo, low body.

Pale blond. It’s quite clean and refreshing with a small amount of acidity in the finish.

330 ml bottle, as Quilmes Cerveza, from Super Cor, La Manga (Spain). ABV is 4.9%. Pale yellow colour, pearly carbonation, low and short-lived head. Sweetish aroma, notes of maize, grass and citrus. Tolerably fresh flavour, notes of citrus. An okay refreshment on a hot day, nothing more.
