Description
Our story originates from the dreams of a German immigrant and his passion for beer. Otto Bemberg, who arrived in our country in 1852, founded the Cervecería Argentina in the city of Quilmes in 1888. After two years, on October 31, 1890, the first chopp was served and from there the iconic beer began to be sold under the Quilmes brand, in honor of the old indigenous name of the town, where this dream materialized. These would be just the first steps of a project that, over time, would become one of the main companies in Argentina. During the years to come, the company grew exponentially, in 1910 it reached 100% beer production.

In 2002 we sealed the strategic association with AmBev and in 2006 we finalized the transfer of our majority shareholding package. We are currently part of AB-InBev, the world's leading brewing company, based in Leuven, Belgium, with a portfolio of more than 200 brands.

Bottle from Bier Imperium, Vienna. Golden color with almost no head. Aroma of almost nothing, hints of grain, vanilla. Taste, light in malt, some fruitiness. Bad.

Bottle 330ml @ Geokkjer
Pours clear pale yellow with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, grain. Taste is light sweet. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

Bottle from Alko in Hetta. Rated at XIII Session, March 10. 2011. Pours a clear light yellow body, with no head. Smells like apple juice, and tastes like apple soda with some notes of corn. It is sweet, thin and not very interesting. Dishwater!

Purchased at Bagel on Damen in Chicago, IL as part of a mix & match sampler pack; enjoyed on a cold Thursday spring pre-evening. Never tried an Argentinian beer, so I thought why not! Appearance a clear pale yellow with a thin white head. Aroma primarily of corn and lager yeast. Taste pretty much the same as the aroma, not a bad beer, slightly better than any mass produced lager you’d get in the US, on par with El Presidente in the DR.

Bottle. Poured clear pale amber with no head. Very little aroma - slightly grainy. Light body, medium carbonation. Flavour is grain and malt with a little tang and a subtle interesting bitey leather / blue cheese note. Overall it is not terrible, but maybe adequate. You wouldn’t drink it for the taste, but served cold I guess it would be passable. I wasn’t expecting a lot from a beer that described itself as "Argentina’s favourite beer" when I thought about America’s or Australia’s favourite beers! So it met those low expectations.

Appearance: Dark copper with a nice biege head and good lacing
Aroma: Toasted malts, caramel and nutty
Taste: Sweet toasted malts with some bitterness in the finish

Bottled 970ml. -Black coloured, small beige head, slight malty and sugary nose. Roasted malt, dark chocolate and molasses with notes of toffee and ash. Heavy sweetness in the finish. Sugar is too dominant here. One-dimensional, expected better stout.
