Description
Our story originates from the dreams of a German immigrant and his passion for beer. Otto Bemberg, who arrived in our country in 1852, founded the Cervecería Argentina in the city of Quilmes in 1888. After two years, on October 31, 1890, the first chopp was served and from there the iconic beer began to be sold under the Quilmes brand, in honor of the old indigenous name of the town, where this dream materialized. These would be just the first steps of a project that, over time, would become one of the main companies in Argentina. During the years to come, the company grew exponentially, in 1910 it reached 100% beer production.

In 2002 we sealed the strategic association with AmBev and in 2006 we finalized the transfer of our majority shareholding package. We are currently part of AB-InBev, the world's leading brewing company, based in Leuven, Belgium, with a portfolio of more than 200 brands.

(bottle, 33cl, as Quilmes Cerveza, 4.9% abv) Clear, pale golden colour with a short frothy white head. Sweet and slightly dusty grainy nose. Moderately sweet flavour, slim bodied with a slightly crispy mouthfeel. Grainy and corny taste with shy traces of spicy hops; sweet malty and slightly corny finish with traces of hoppy bitterness. Not as bad as expected but still quite boring and plain. 23.VIII.10

A friend of mine was given this by a friend of his. I ad no choice but to drink it to be polite. Pours clear yellow with white head. Cereal malt aroma. Slightly sweet and bitter flavor. Light to medium body with fizzy carbonatoin. A typical macro pale lager.

Light yellow beer with weak and white head. Malts, argentina’s pampas and some lemon in the aroma that is overally very mild. Malts, some corns, hint of honey, lemon and white wine in the flavour. Light and easy to drink. There are nothing special and interesting in this beer; not worth to ship over Atlantic.
