Description
Our story originates from the dreams of a German immigrant and his passion for beer. Otto Bemberg, who arrived in our country in 1852, founded the Cervecería Argentina in the city of Quilmes in 1888. After two years, on October 31, 1890, the first chopp was served and from there the iconic beer began to be sold under the Quilmes brand, in honor of the old indigenous name of the town, where this dream materialized. These would be just the first steps of a project that, over time, would become one of the main companies in Argentina. During the years to come, the company grew exponentially, in 1910 it reached 100% beer production.

In 2002 we sealed the strategic association with AmBev and in 2006 we finalized the transfer of our majority shareholding package. We are currently part of AB-InBev, the world's leading brewing company, based in Leuven, Belgium, with a portfolio of more than 200 brands.

0.33 l bottle. Pale golden color, with no head, looks like apple juice. Watery sweetness in taste with hints of hops maybe? Lively carbonated, very light bodied.

Drinking this beer, at the Argentinian on the Spanish way, Milonga's restaurant. An industrial lager that it was for me drinkable, expecting something worst, malty, rather dry, mineral, bready, watery, extract of hop, it was ok with a good meat. 17.01.23

Clear and golden with a bubbly/frothy white head and a floral, herbal, grassy aroma. Has a kick up front, soft citrus notes with cereal malt and plenty of fizz

Bottle from Hopt. Skunky adjunct-laden aroma with corn, light grain, cardboard and dishwater. Sweetish flavour with a light bitterness. Body is light. Such a foul aroma, terrible Lager, should be outlawed under the Biological Weapons Convention.

330ml bottle and my first Argentina rate. Gold pour with thin, white head. Aroma is sweet malts with a hint of lemon from minimal hops. Taste is the same, boring but there are no real off notes here and its not watery. Its a fine basic lager.

Bottle at home, thanks to Roger, 23/12/24. Golden with a white cap that thins to a swirl over time. Nose is pale malts, toasted grains, straw, herb, cereals. Taste comprises hedgerow, grains, grass, pale malts, corn husk, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Not too shabby for a macro logger.
