Description
Our story originates from the dreams of a German immigrant and his passion for beer. Otto Bemberg, who arrived in our country in 1852, founded the Cervecería Argentina in the city of Quilmes in 1888. After two years, on October 31, 1890, the first chopp was served and from there the iconic beer began to be sold under the Quilmes brand, in honor of the old indigenous name of the town, where this dream materialized. These would be just the first steps of a project that, over time, would become one of the main companies in Argentina. During the years to come, the company grew exponentially, in 1910 it reached 100% beer production.
In 2002 we sealed the strategic association with AmBev and in 2006 we finalized the transfer of our majority shareholding package. We are currently part of AB-InBev, the world's leading brewing company, based in Leuven, Belgium, with a portfolio of more than 200 brands.

Can. Clear, copper with beige head. Malt, caramel, sweetness and a tad spice aroma. The flavor has a malty sweetness and some hops. Medium body and a sweet and malty finish. A decent bock, but a bit anonymous. (070427)

bottle - Pours pale yellow with a thin head and lots of suspended transluscent yeast flakes. Yeast flakes? No one else is mentioning yeast and I’d have expected a pale lager to be filtered. What the hell was in my glass? Well it tasted as expected anyway and didn’t kill me. The barely there aroma is light malt and the same with the flavor with some barely noticeable hops. The body is thin and the palate bubbly. This would be okay on a hot day, but you may as well have whatever your area’s cheap domestic is instead.

Coming right out of the bottle it really looks like just crystal clear water. In the glass where you can see through more liquid it takes on a slight yellow hue. A tiny white ring of foam hung around the rim for a while. The aroma is grainy malts, sweet malts and a bit of metal. The flavor is a little too sweet for me with sweet malts, tasteless water, tasteless water and another hint of sweet malts. If I really concentrate I think there’s some hops too. Oh, did I mention it tastes like water?

Weird aluminum bottle. Pale, golden body with a thin white head. Slightly unclear. Nearly no aroma at all, maybe a little hint of hops and some traces of alcohol. Insignificant flavor, if I dive really deep down in the bottle as Yngwie obviously does, I must agree there could be some lemon feeling here as well. Another meaningless beer in a designer bottle.

Bottled (alu). A clear, almost golden beer with some microfloaties and a white head. Weak aroma with some hops to start, then malt, some alcohol and lemon-hints shows up. Weak flavor too, with malt, hops and some citrus. Thin body and a hoppy finish. A boring beer in a fancy bottle, probably meant to serve ice cold. (070119)

Land #53 Absolut wässriger Antrunk, ist da was? Test vom 25.1.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,5,9,4,7,4 - 5,75

Bottled. Very dark ruby, firm off white head. Aroma of caramelized sugar. Sweet with clean mouthfeel. Light bodied with some spun sugar and a touch of roasty malt, mostly hidden by vegetables. No hops nor bitterness.
