Description
Our story originates from the dreams of a German immigrant and his passion for beer. Otto Bemberg, who arrived in our country in 1852, founded the Cervecería Argentina in the city of Quilmes in 1888. After two years, on October 31, 1890, the first chopp was served and from there the iconic beer began to be sold under the Quilmes brand, in honor of the old indigenous name of the town, where this dream materialized. These would be just the first steps of a project that, over time, would become one of the main companies in Argentina. During the years to come, the company grew exponentially, in 1910 it reached 100% beer production.
In 2002 we sealed the strategic association with AmBev and in 2006 we finalized the transfer of our majority shareholding package. We are currently part of AB-InBev, the world's leading brewing company, based in Leuven, Belgium, with a portfolio of more than 200 brands.

Bottle accompanying a fast food meal in Mendoza. Typical corn adjunct swill, boring, like drinking a lightly sweet mineral water. You actually have a chice between a pop, and this. Should have gone for a Coke.
Earlier Rating: 5/22/2006 Total Score: 2
Golden lager with a thick collapsing white head. Lightly skunked and sulfury corn mash aroma. In mouth, some reddeming fresh malts, and sweet corn adjunct, fresh, quaffable, and forgetable. Can bought at corner store for 3 pesos (1$). I’ve tasted worse.

Blonde lager with a thin white head. Rather corny adjunct malt aroma. In mouth, the same corny malt with light metallic notes, some light hops, and rather non-descript. Crap. Can bought in Mendoza, 1.70$AR.

Bottled(330cm3). -After 4 year long "beer hunt" I have finally "drinked" the last continent, South America. Pale piss coloured, no head, watery with faint malty aroma and sweet corn, standard commercial beer. For the end, what to say about volume of 330cm3??? Interesting measure indeed.

Dark brown ale with a thin big bubbled off white head. Light caramel malt aroma, light hops, a bit artificial. In mouth, a nutty malt with light hops, light bodied, some lingering metallic notes. Some chocolate appears as it warms up. Not as bad as cristal.

Can. Clear, light golden with a white head. Light malty aroma with hops. Flavor is mostly malty, but it’s weak. Thin, quaffable beer. Rating: 4-3-4-2-9-2.2. 060224
Bottle. It pours a sparkling, clear, light golden body and a finger-thick white head. Matly nose with some sweetish fruits. A whiff of cardboard too. It’s quite thin on the palate, semi-dry, and with flavors of sweet malts and some fruits. Very low on bitterness. A quite bland beer, but there’s not much wrong with it, except it’s lack of character. A bit sweet to be nice in the heat too. 100628

Pour is a pale yellow with a soapy looking head. Aroma is weak and slightly skunky. Flavor is corny and grainy with some lemon zestyness. Overall pretty bland. Oh well another country rated.
