Description
Our story originates from the dreams of a German immigrant and his passion for beer. Otto Bemberg, who arrived in our country in 1852, founded the Cervecería Argentina in the city of Quilmes in 1888. After two years, on October 31, 1890, the first chopp was served and from there the iconic beer began to be sold under the Quilmes brand, in honor of the old indigenous name of the town, where this dream materialized. These would be just the first steps of a project that, over time, would become one of the main companies in Argentina. During the years to come, the company grew exponentially, in 1910 it reached 100% beer production.
In 2002 we sealed the strategic association with AmBev and in 2006 we finalized the transfer of our majority shareholding package. We are currently part of AB-InBev, the world's leading brewing company, based in Leuven, Belgium, with a portfolio of more than 200 brands.

Blond color. Aroma of corn, and a touch of lemonade. Dry, medium bitterness, useless.
Earlier Rating: 4/1/2003 Total Score: 2
Blond color. A basic aroma, like many other mass lagers, plus a light touch of malt, sweetish. Dry, light, too watery but equilibrated for such beer. The final is really too watery. A very light one!

Bottle.Very slight smoky malt flavor. Light yellow color with little head. Watery - slight hops and even less malt flavor. This is labelled as "Argentina’s favorite beer". All I can say is that I’ll cry for you, Argentina!

You always walk a fine line when buying a beer just because it is from a new country. I knew this wouldn’t be good, but darn it I wanted to try an Argentinian beer! I am sure I am not the only one. Pours a clear pale gold color with a thin white head that lasted pretty long. Thin lacing. The aroma is lightly hopped. Thin-bodied and adjunct-ridden with a weak hops and malt flavor struggling to be noticed. The finish is clean but nearly flavorless. I have definitely had worse but this beer really serves no purpose other than being from Argentina.

Sampled at the Southside Beer Expo. Well, I may be sampling this just so I can paste "Argentina" into my "countries" stamp album. But this does have a little more character than the standard pale ale. Served a little warm, it demonstrates a bit more hoppiness and a few good malt notes than the standard megabrew. Just not too much more. Insert your joke about Argentinians and Germans here.

Clear golden colour with a thin (1 centimetre) white head. Smells of caster sugar, even more sweetness and a tiny bit of malt. No hops detectable in the aroma, maybe they aren't prominent in Argentina! Light-bodied; Strong american macrobrew flavour along with a slight skunkyness. No horrible offensive tastes with this one, just one that isn't too pleasing. Very light and thin, and a slight medicinal flavour after a few seconds of letting it rest on your palate. Aftertaste filled with a bit of sweetness, a tiny bit of the malt and generally a large amount of the american macro-brew crap taste. If you are attempting to try different beers from around the world, try this one (as it pays respect to Boca Juniors), but don't expect too much! I bough this twelve ounce bottle from Total Wine in Chantilly, Virginia.

Bottled. Pale golden. Neutral aroma. Fruity with clean mouthfeel. A touch of crystal malt flavour and a lot of emptiness. No bitterness.
