Description
Welcome to the Green Jack Brewing Company website. Green Jack was founded in 1993 by Tim Dunford, we are a multi-award winning traditional real ale brewery based in Lowestoft in Suffolk. From humble beginnings Green Jack has now grown into one of the largest real ale breweries in East Anglia. In 2009 we built a new 38 barrel brew house in an old smoke house in the heart of historic Lowestoft. This enabled Green Jack to produce significantly improved volumes of our award-winning real ales. Green Jack beers are now available nationwide and online via our Real Ale Shop. Green Jack beers are known for their subtle balance of sugars, malt and hops, we produce beers of our design along with our own contemporary take on traditional English beer styles.

Cask at Peterborough Beer Fest. Golden colour. Flowery nose with some light bubblegum. Sweet, soft and light bodied, yet with mouthfilling flavour of buttery malt and flowery hops. Salty finish. Superbly drinkable.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2007. Itโs Winter Champion beer of Britain, so I was excited by this. Amber, thin beige head. Good barley wine aroma, it is a bit sweet, but youโd expect that, intense toffee and grapefruit. Itโs a good barley wine, takes you to a cloudy, fluffy, cotton wool world. Peppery hop. Hot alcohol. Some nice toffee. Great effect.

Gravicask at GBBF 07 ... Lovely golden amber ... again nice sweet fruity hop nose ... a clawingly sweet toffeee with lots of depth and caramel malt tones that settles down to be less clawing and grew on me as i drank through the 1/3 pint.

Half pint on gravity at The Dove Street Inn, Ipswich. Clear dark golden colour with bright clarity and low level of foam. Marked fruity aroma. The flavour is also floral, fresh and fruity with a dry hoppy ending. And the taste I canโt determine might be the elderflower. Quite well balanced English fruit beer (21.09.2006).
