500mL bottle, pours jet black, no head. Aroma has a somewhat smoky bourbon barrels, molasses, and dark sugars. Flavour is rich, with lots of deep bourbon barrels, dark sugars, and chocolate fudge. Tons of bourbon, with a silky mouthfeel. Great depth.

Inky, no head. Very dark brown. Oily. Big sticky molasses, toasty, treacly. One the palate this is super rich again dates, molasses, toast, all that sort of stuff. Excellent barrel character as well - big and toasty oak and the sugars round it out well.

16 oz can in a trade with tfontana, ty Tom. Color is Coca Cola brown. Nice flavor of roasted malt, chocolate hints and ends on mild pine / herb. Soft traces of citrus.Well balanced with soft herb bitterness. Breweries don’t brew this style enough. I hope the style makes a comeback!

Can from The Liquor Junction, Reading. Opaque, milky dark brown with tons of sparkle, thin, creamy head with good retention and tons of lacing. Aroma is pine, roasted malt and citrus. Taste is strong pine, roasted malt, hint of chocolate. Smooth, frothy, thick texture with medium body, average-to-lively carbonation and finish as taste. True to style. Can't remember the last one I had before this one. Always nice.

16 oz. can, split with Tim. Pours an unclear, yellow color, with a smaller, foamy, white head. The aroma is orange, pineapple, pine sap, and marigold. Sweet and juicy, with a mellow, phenoic bitterness. Medium body, acidic, and juicy. Solid, assertive, and quality.

On tap at Unseen Creatures, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma has light pineapple and ginger upfront, with rustic saison yeast and a touch of bugs. Flavour is mostly a function of the pineapple, with gentle bugs, and a kiss of ginger. Not a huge amount of complexity but it's clean and the pineapple is situated nicely enough. Decent.

On tap at Unseen Creatures, pours a clear purple with a small white head. Aroma brings out that weird herbal flower character, with subtle rustic saison yeast further back. Flavour is much the same — that weird herbal, floral character comes out with little else to back. I still have yet to have a good beer with this plant in it.
