From a bottle shared at the DC RB gathering Memorial Day weekend 2017. Pours a hazy mahogany with a scant off white head. Aroma of toffee and caramel. Flavors same. Cloyingly sweet.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a murky dark brown color with a large creamy tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was brewed coffee and faint roasty malts. The flavor was mildly bitter, malty, roasty and had notes of brewed coffee and nut. Long finish. Medium body. Ok

Tap @ Patricks. Clear pale. First taste is easy, a little friendly, but there is a little more bitterness in there than the other EE Loaf beer. Personally, I liked the other Loaf much better. Not even close to the fun things in kvass. Not bad, just a little less than expected.

Refrigerated 2015 brown bottle poured into a snifter. As caramel malt, medium body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste caramel and some wood.

Sampled on draft at Hugo?s this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was toasty malts, cherry cola and raisin. The flavor was sour with red wine vinegar, oak and medicine. Long finish. Medium body. Pretty bad. Infected??

On tap at market district. This is terribly on style for the paint remover american strong ale category, heheh. Big ass black visual impressions. Slight nose hair curling volatile alky nose. Why must we age beer in whiskey barrels? Some kinda good thang? Bullshit. After the insid eof my mouth becomes a little numb, I think perhaps I’m getting used to it. Warming. Brutal. Too much. Impressive. Glad its all over. If you like american strong ale, flip my numbers, this stuff is MF’r.

A reddish copper barleywine with a mocha head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with vinous notes, treacle, light butterscotch, alcohol warmth, very nice and beautiful. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light treacle, alcohol warmth, very nice and rich. Bottle at Ottawa Xmas gathering 2016.
