Hand-pulled half-pint at The Crown Inn, Oakengates on 1st May 2014. Pale gold in colour with a white collar. Perfumed, floral nose with citrus undertones, the taste leaning towards honey-melon flavours. I didn’t take to the beer at all. A real girlie brew!

Bottle: Nose is strong corriander, pepper, wheat and yeast. Taste is dominated by the coriander, herbs, elderflower with bitter wheat finish. There is little of the promised banana or sweet tones which are hinted at in the finish. A reasonable wheat beer, but a little one note.

Bottle. Lots of floaties in this else clear pale golden beer. Minimal-sized white head. The aroma is very weak, with some grainy pale malts and citrus peel. The flavor is a tad more pronounced, but still very weak. Citrus notes and some pale malts. A touch of bitterness too. Thin on the palate, dry and with a decent carbonation level. Short finish. Sure not often I find any beers that are this weak. At least it’s nothing wrong going on. 140418

Bottle. A big off-white head leaves lacings over an unclear, golden-orange body. Dusty, yeasty aroma with citrus peel. Citrus peel, pine cones, bitterness, yeast and chalk in the quite bitter flavor. Medium body, pleasant carbonation. Short finish. Sure a beer I don’t need to repeat, not clean at all. 140418

Cask at Cloisters. Don’t know why, but I was expecting a fruit beer! Anyway, a decent kiwi-hopped pale ale. Nice tropical fruit aromas, more fruit on the taste. Good.
